How to bike with Ben Cathro by Jeffrey. Step 1 ask Ben if he wants to go biking. Step 2 meet up with Ben and go for a bike ride. Step 3 ??? Step 4 profit
All these years I have looked ahead, clinched my rectum at the sight of anything while grabbing 2 hands of brakes, followed by skidding and slowing down rapidly with the goal of survival. Turns out that was wrong, who knew I was supposed to be looking ahead to go faster.
This is so spot on, back when I first started riding I would always fixate on the obstacles I didn't want to hit, and I ended up taking bad lines a lot. Once I started looking at the preferred line it was a game changer.
Turning your bike upside down for a few minutes before the downhill section helps you go really fast as well. (It gives time for the air in your calipers to work its way up to the levers, resulting in absolutely no brakes, not that it ever happened to me...)
@Spindelatron: can confirm the bubbles still go up in this hemisphere. I don't know which parts of Canada that physics don't apply. Must be the French bits.
