Must Watch: Gee Atherton Shares What Might Have Been in 'The Knife Edge'
As an H&S manager I've seen some pretty gnarly footage of accidents (read:de4ths) in the workplace, and this was tame by comparison (all limbs still attached to bdy for instance) however it still made me cringe. Lucky Gee landed where he did, and stopped rag dolling, eventually. Having guys standing on a blustery ridge above a steep & deep drop hoping to catch a moving biker wearing casual clothes and skate shoes, with no fall protection, seems like a breach of various laws and regs, and an oversight in the risk any case, whoever is managing these situations needs to take greater responsibiltiy for their safety, be it defining the safety controls, or enforcing existing ones. Living a couple of hours from Machynlleth I'm happy to lend a hand...;)

British Councillor Objects to Local Bike Park Due to Fears of Child Molesters & 'Aggressive Males'
They're prevalent within pretty much all councils. Rarely is a decision made upon the merits directly pertaining to the issue in question, rather the 'big picture' of what else can be gained from alternative decisions, and how they can most effectively line their own pockets. This is an issue which goes all the way up to top government as evidenced by the handling of the COVID pandemic (awarding multimillion dollar contracts to inexperienced/brand new organisations who have family links to those awarding the contracts) as well as the HS2 development which has been proven to be irrelevant and unnecessary post pandemic yet continues at signiificant financial, social and ecological cost, with the main supporting arguement being to 'level up' northern cities (as if a train arriving 20 mins earlier is going to achieve this) and somehow supporting NHS workers. I'm sick to the back teeth of UK politics, they should all be handed P45s and replaced by people who haven't gone to Eton, have a grasp of what it is like to be an average UK resident, and who have sufficient morals so as to not be corrupted by developers.
