@brianpark: Former small town newspaper employee here (remember when those still existed?). I remember watching the slow decline of local papers during the rise of the internet and becoming very frustrated at our editors for not seeing what our real role was, and where we added the most value. What we did well was local high school sports, and community human interest stories, and we held our local politicians accountable. Unfortunately, we wasted far too much ink and newsprint on publishing 18-hours-old international stories that people had gotten phone alerts about the previous day. By the time our editors had figured it out, there weren't enough advertisers left in the pool and the format fell flat. I love your site, your staff's passion, and I enjoy your World Cup coverage as well. I follow the races pretty closely (first on RBTV, now through WBD/Max) and I admit that I generally read your coverage of the races, particularly for the qualifying/timed training data and the photo recaps. I think PB does a good job with this coverage. However, I typically skip all the livestream updates or minute-by-minute "as it happened" content. I think perhaps there is a gap in the market for the National and Regional coverage. With the changing nature of WC shifting to smaller/fewer teams, less privateers, fewer names at the top, I hope PB can be a big part of identifying and showcasing those feeder series. I, for one, hope to have easy access to the rising talent, especially the young North American bright prospects! Keep up the good work. I'll keep reading it. Cheers.

Kade's comments are golden. Agree or not, he's calling it how he sees it. Respect. Probably a huge number of his colleagues feel exactly the same, even if they aren't vocalizing it yet. I hope the UCI sorts themselves out quickly. As a spectator, the sport has gotten confusing to follow.
