Definitely like to call myself the jack of all trades and the master of none since I can do all MTB disciplines including trials. In addition to MTB competitions, I also race BMX.

Racing Rumours 2024 Part 1: Danny Hart Off Cube, Vali to YT, the End of GT Factory Racing, Kintner Off Norco, & More
Right when GT had a DH team was having a breakout season. But I'm not surprised by the business decisions because GT slashed their product offerings by a 1/3-1/2 compared to last year.

Video: Katy Winton Opens Up in 'Rebuilding After Burnout'
@iamamodel: That's so funny you point this out because, yeah, I've definitely injured myself more in cycling than martial arts, even considering the sparring aspect. I specifically do Shaolin kungfu, and I'd attribute that because we break into flexibility, core, coordination and strength training routines a lot more than say, just hitting Zwift, it for sure has translated to the bike but I have some friends that think it is all about only doing miles although I see the pros doing similar off the bike routines.

Video: Katy Winton Opens Up in 'Rebuilding After Burnout'
I'm just a beer-league/amateur hour XC/bmx racer and I can really empathize for Katy a billion percent. A lot of my friends I met through cycling and honestly, a lot of them could not understand burnout nor injury and have that mentality of "racing is just the best, etc., etc., etc." and just forcing yourself to work/suffer through an injury as "healing." Mind you, I partially tore my Achilles, so I really do have to let it heal. I jumped into martial arts as my "off the bike" hobby and long story short, it's nice to have friends who don't do cycling and yet understand that competing isn't "everything" to where you feel super singled out for talking about burnout. But when I'm back on the bike, it is because I enjoy it, not because I feel I need to in order to keep up. I'm with Katy on this and best to her.

First Ride: The New GT Sensor Loses Weight, Gains Travel
The price point of these bikes doesn't seem that bad but one thing that would be nice is if they're available at the local bike shops. For example, when GT did the marketing for the high pivot LTS Force, it was a strong ad campaign but then you visit, per their website, an authorized dealer, the dealers couldn't order. I'm all for the bikes but make them actually available and not just some models are offered every where but the USA vice versa. I like the brand, own a couple of their bikes but listen to your customers meaning the riders and bike shops.

GT Becomes a "Stand-alone Business" as it Returns to Southern California
I had a 90s GT Tempest that got me into mountain biking and was fortunate to be part of the GT Coalition ambassador team when it was around, that was a dream come true. That said, I hope this is the start of good things to come for both the consumer and the indie bike shops (IBD). One thing that I wasn't keen on as a brand ambassador was trying to promote the bikes but the IBD couldn't get any GT bikes because they all went to Dick's or at the time Performance Bicycle. Or wouldn't because the IBDs felt they weren't being valued so why carry something when companies like Transition and Norco, for example treat you better and can fulfill your orders? The people at GT have been very good to me during my time with them but really, I hope they can make good for bike shops and customers because that has been a long time coming.

I'd be beyond mad - you train so friggin' hard for some person just to ruin all that work in a handful of seconds. Yeah, someone is getting Cobra Kai Crane Kicked.

Throwback Thursday: 7 Bikes Turning 30 in 2022
I think the closest to the RTS platform by Jim Busby would be Peter Denk's AOS platform that was seen on GT's 2014-18 Sensor and Force bikes with the bottom bracket moved from the frame to the pathlink or in RTS speak, the cam rocker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZhSLXAUtRI
