One thing Jarrett didnt mention is that you typically do unturndowns opposite of how you do your normal tables, you turn the bike towards your back foot.

you can still do it with your front foot because when one foot is off the pedal, the cranks are vertical(relative to the bike) so its not to hard to have your front foot go down vs. back foot.

Correct, but it is a bit awkward when your foot rotates 180 degrees when you do it towards your front foot. The foot on the outside of the bike tends to fall off the pedal. When you do it toward your back foot its easier in my experience. Having your back foot "go down" is less of a dramatic change on the bike as that foot is already in that position in the cranks rotation

That's how I learned them. Watch this, I drop my front foot foward and then the only hard part is that you either land switch footed or you put your foot back on and back pedal before you land.

I definitely agree that you can do them that way, I was just trying to help some folks who are gonna go try to learn them. If you do them towards your back foot, you dont have to worry about landing switch foot or pedalling back to correct it

Mine are opposite to my tables, just takes time!

It can be done easier with the back foot, but can be done with the front if you use the rear brake to lock the crank arms..., check out Transition rider Mike Metzger's version, he tells how. www.pinkbike.com/video/67392
