AUSTRALIA DAY 2011

Snowy07 and i had a day off work and headed out early for some XC riding....It didnt really work out as the trail was closed.BUT......we found this place and after a few runs we decided to do some Fat Butcher filming. The 4x4 driving was just as good as the riding.Going back to this place again for sure.

  • + 1
thanks mate.it was hard because my suspension was set firm for a XC ride.it is actually the DH track where we had the state champs here a year or two ago.we just left the big jumps alone hahaha.we tried to go fast mate but Amigo,we had such a good laugh all day and snowy07 is a 4x4 master so he showed me how to drive my truck properly...best day on the trails for a long time.

  • + 1
hahaha my mates call it china as it is made in China....it is a great car.did the steep rocky trail easy with a heavy bike rack,2 bikes, back full of beer etc and 2 fat butchers......i love the name.the weather was perfect and the tropics are like heavan on earth...
  • + 1
Great video, nice jungle place to riding.how many time did you spend editing the video cutting it.
  • + 1
thanks mate.the tropics are beautiful.bit hot but we are used to it.it took 2 hours to edit.it was easy this one to edit.
  • + 1
 that's a good one lads!Wink
  • + 1
thank you mate.Glad you liked it.it was a perfect day with only a few crashes.which is very unusual for the fatbutchers.
  • + 1
I wish i was there Smile cool ride Smile
  • + 1
mate anytime you could get here we would take you up.not bad for a couple of fat butchers.1 on a HT and the other old enough for a walking frame hahaha.the 4x4 driving was even better.i finally got to try my truck with a decent "trying" track....it nailed it.
  • + 1
 Smile
Haha , never to old to ride ! Oh , i would so have a 4x4 if i was in Australia. its garnly out there !
  • + 1
we can get to most of the trails here without a 4x4 but the hard ones like this really need low range.you really aint a Aussie if you have not got a 4x4 lol.as long as im able too i will ride.Im slowing down quite a bit now but love it more than ever.
  • + 1
Nice, was that a CB radio in your truck?
  • + 1
yes mate a CB.....thanks buddy,we always come prepared.we are too bad at riding to not realise we are gonna need help one day lol.we even pack stuff for snake bites too.
  • + 1
Nice, do you speak to all the truckers on your way to your trails and you have to be prepared
  • + 1
no chatting to truckers mate.just each other.sometimes a mobile phone wont work in the Hills.we are always prepared mate.with our wild life you never know what will happen.
  • + 1
 better safe than sorry!
  • + 1
Liam you are 100%right.we always make sure we are ready.I would hate a good days riding be spoiled by no preperation.we see some big crashes up here on our lines.A lot of young blokes go too hard lol and the snakes, and other nasty things are always around.
  • + 1
I'd hate to meet a snake but do they leave you alone if you don't bother them
  • + 1
yes but when you corner them even by accident they will go you hard.when you see them you shit your pants hahaha
  • + 1
I definitely hate to meet one then haha
  • + 1
some mates did a big XC ride today.they ran over a King Brown and it chased them.also saw another one and it chased them too for a bit......i dont like them at all.
  • + 1
I take it they can move pretty quick then!
  • + 1
hell yes! a few weeks ago i almost walked over one and i didnt even know it before the bugger took off and was 20 feet away.I scared it just as much as it me.The king browns will come from any where and chase you but it has not happened to me yet but living in National park land it think its only a matter of time before one comes and says hello.
  • + 1
man thats the only bad thing about living in such an awesome place
  • + 1
yeah i can put up with that. After a while you sort of learn where they are anyway.thanks mate,im very proud to be a Aussie.
  • + 1
true and Australia looks mint, I want to go on holiday there some day will be able to add it to me list of travels then lol
  • + 1
well you know where to come if you need to see a snake then lol.It is a lovely Country and very Bright and natural.Bring ya camera mate if you do.
  • + 1
I go know were with out it lol
  • + 1
Kind of worked that out a while ago Amigo hahahaha.....Im starting to be the same.
  • + 1
aha it's a good thing, I just need a better bag for it as the one I have a can't ride with it on my back as it bounces around to much and I don't like leaving it at the top of the trail
  • + 1
Lots of fun!Made me laugh so hard during the warm up and stretch.
  • + 1
thanks mate....we use humour as our riding is very bad and to keep you interested we joke around a bit hahaha....the warm up was just a bit of fun.our warm up is usually a a pedal around then straight off.
  • + 1
Cracking fart at the end lol! Funny as hell mate!
  • + 1
lol im glad someone mentioned the fart lol.yes,it was a awesome ride for sure and there is nothing like farting on a good mate.....its good for the relationship bro
  • + 1
dude !!!...what a great vid !!!...funny and educational at the same time, lol...some really nice riding and the music with the didjeridu and the bullroarer techno beat is awesome !!!...fits right in...what date is OZ Day !!!...loved the fast forward stretching at the start, lmao...

Aussie day is Jan 26...It was a long time ago when we only really starting riding again after a few years off.....This trail is the State Champs DH line....In desperate need of some love.We have fun with every ride bro.Our local bike shop asked us to do a review of a new bike so snowy and i took it out and did a video.....f*cking funny shit .....If you get the chance check it out.Its in my Fat Butchers MTB club album called "avanti torrent test ride".....listen to our ghetto review....for some reason the company didnt use it lol but i got heaps of emails from them saying it was a funny review....we started of serious but it went ape shit at the end.thanks mate, love a prop every now and then of a fellow bike geek
  • + 1
i fear poison bugs!and poison sneek!
  • + 1
 so do i bro.
  • + 1
Another classic ending, lol. Great video and riding.
  • + 2
lol, thought you might like that.....if you cant fart on ya best mate whats the point of having one?
the riding was ok.when we rode the lines there a few times before the film we were going pretty fast.but with self filming it is hard to get a good flow.Either way we had a good day out and the nomad came through with flying colours.I just need to get the stem length right now.100mm was cool but not on tech stuff.with the wide bars i hit trees but the worst part was when i slowed down the 100mm stem sort of turned the bike from nice to really twitchy....all good fun, means i get to work on the set up a bit more lol.a 80mm stem might be the go i think.
  • + 1
80mm may be the ticket for you. Didn't you try a 50mm and 65mm before the 100mm?
  • + 2
yes mate.i have tried them all but went from 60mm to 100mm......i have a mate with a 80mm down the road so might hit him up before i buy one.still trying out new bars too.i want something with a bigger rise than the 0.5 inch sunlines.
  • + 1
 am jealous...
  • + 1
thanks mate.it is a lovely place that.it was 6am and the sun was shining like a diamond.lovely bush sounds like birds etc.....
  • + 1
 Beautiful bush
  • + 1
Mate it is a lovely place. This track was where the 2008 QLD state DH race was help.It has been let go some what but we still ride it often...it is much more fun on a DH rig though.
  • + 1
Mate we are not your best freeriders and take the piss out of each other at any chance we get.We are in it for the love of riding, not because we are good at it as you can see.As for the scorpion, yes,it just snapped the twig so easy.It was only a baby as they grow to about 6 inch long.but i can saddly say they would be hard to train but would make a ideal pet for a person you dont like maybe. Happy Australia Day to you sir too.
  • + 1
hahahaha....group hug everyone....you first in Bhudda?
