all you have to do is graze them a few times with the tire and normally they will learn to run behind you.. At least that was the case for my dog.. One ride and she learned that she could run ahead on uphills but on flats and down hill she knows she belongs behind me.. other then that she is a great trail dog.. she will loves water straight out of the Camelback. haha

my dog knows to stay back after a few good grazes and a crash or two lol. he is my only riding buddy that will go out no matter what the weather is too!

Kona usually gives Gary more room, she must've been fired up. Baker has been hit by a few friends too.

I dont understand riding with dogs its basically putting your dogs life at risk especially with a big group of riders.
