Why? 24s are just more comfortable to be on for anyone taller than an 8 yr old..Makes sense to me.

I don't get the whole "BMX" mentality. quite literally EVERY trick done on an MTB was taken from BMX. The fact that he's running pegs just means he's expanding the possibilities on his bike. Same reason I run them. You can only do so many jumping tricks off of stairs and ledges so many times before it becomes really old, and everyone else does it. There's nothing wrong with progression.

I know all about street riding, my preferred discipline is street ! I was merely commenting on how I thought he would look more comfortable on a bmx. I understand how someone would want to ride 24 street with pegs because a bmx is too small or they simply just prefer mtb. Street mtb is sick, I would love to try pegs one day, sorry that a looked like a hater, but I'm not, ok ?

It's cool, I'm just trying to figure out where BMX fits into the equation. Why people have this mentality that when the see pegs on a bike they bring up BMX bikes. It just makes no sense. If people want to ride BMX bikes, then they would.

Look at how the bikes have evolved, and how the riding has progressed. Pegs are just another step in evolution of the sport. You gotta remember, BMX bikes started out with no pegs, and were off road purpose built. They evolved. It may be 20 years late, but our sport is undergoing the same changes. Wow, a reasonable person on pinkbike...Never thought that would happen. What I don't understand, and maybe someone can explain, why would you ever want to run brakeless? I'd think after running into people, poles, cars, and wearing out shoes, and looping out and smacking your head on a manual, you'd want to run a back brake...

I have no idea. I can't run brakeless, but it's all just preference. I'll never nag on some one for how they set their bike up. It's up to the rider. People get on me a lot because I ride a brake and could run a flag off of my seat post, but that's what feels comfortable to me.

For me brakes are only good for dirt jumps and indoor skate parks, but thats just my personal preference. Its funny I cant foot jam or hop 180 with a brake it just feels weird whereas I can get them dialled when I'm breakless. Breakless is sometimes better, for example if you are going to do a really big gap /drop /jump with breaks you'd get scared (unless your fearless

) and slam them on but if you are breakless you don't have this option and you just do it. But as we-are-138 said, its just personal preference.

Brakeless is the way for me, keeps me on edge and concentrated, I get too lazy with a brake
