My local store finally got some new Trance's in, I had a look at them yesterday. The X1 paint scheme looked sweet but the x3 is scary enough in price for me as it is.

Just wondered about price, is the sticker price the actual price or is it the done thing to haggle? I hear lots of people crowing about how they got "x" amount of discount. I just don't want to be the fool who pays way more than every1 else.

Its the new 2012 versions so I imagine if I could get any discount it would be small. Some have told me you should get %10 discount for cash or perhaps the equivalent in store credit for accesories and things.

Just wondered what your guys thoughts are ?

Sorry for going waaaaay off topic, but I respect your guys thoughts.
  • + 1
Mate go into the shop.Tell them you are keen but you are looking at another bike and what is there best price.....I did that and got my Trance much cheaper although the new stuff was coming out so that helped. Have a look at bikes for sale on-line....we have heaps of sites in Oz that do,im sure you would too. I got the X2 but was gonna go the X3 for price thinking i can just add to it later but if you can get the bike for the right price maybe you can save in the long run there aswell. They want your business mate so dont be shamed into not saking for a bit off.Like buying a new car,the window price can be haggled......good luck mate, let us all know how you went
  • + 1

  • + 1
thanks mate....intense is what i have been but now i have started the road back im quite relaxed...thanks mate means so much coming from you
  • + 1
Keep it up and your diligence will give you the life you need! I too am in the same boat trying to get back. My shoulder has been clicking and popping like crazy so, I have to rest some! RidEOn brother man!
  • + 1
look after that shoulder.....I need a good month of solid training and bike set up practice....Not 100% happy with the rear end.It is a longish back end and with less air in shock it gets a little wild.
I still cant get the right combo with the stem and bars.....i will work it out
  • + 1
I have found that you can run air sus a lot stiffer than the normal sag recommended setting of 25% and stiff have a very confident plush ride.
The air is usually a little dead in the mid stroke so running about 10-15% sag works wonderfully and you will find it still eats the rough sections like a charm.

A coil you can run on the soft side and due to the naturally progressive spring it works out.
But, soft air it just bottoms too soon and feels flat or dead mid stroke.

Give it a try.

RideOn!
U

great advice from the suspension master.....I have to agree with you mate.
  • + 1
Cool! The best thing is air has so many settings to play with!
  • + 1
Yes it does...I have started to take notes of what suspension settings does what and the firmer rear is more for me.Still takes the big bumps and small ones too but much more stable in the rear.I really need 140mm + forks to get the best from this bike.I am going with the shorter stem and wider bars next ride.Just been for a Jog and now off to work.Im losing kg's and feeling great.I feel my date with Walky is not too far away......
  • + 1
Yes, longer forks will give you a new level of confidence on the DH sections.
Im sure the current fork is great but with a taller raked out set up it should be a blast!

Put the 66 on there?
hahahhhhahhahah

The firmer rear and even for air forks too a little on the firm side gives you great stability but it still eats the trail very well.

RideOn!
  • + 1
hahaha i have thought of the 66's ha...but they are waiting for the marrage with a very special build...I am putting max air preasure on front and rear now to give me a firm ride ....this will help me with the up hill sections and flat parts.I dont go real hard on the downs, just try to stay on hahaha but the hills and flats i try to go hard....its what this bike is meant for.
  • + 1
Yes, definitely the bike is meant to be ridden on the hard side. The 66 would kill this bike and really mess up the geo. 140 to 150 would be great! but keep the nice AM feel this bike has! Im sure you won't have any problems with a stiffer set as the suspension still works keeping you stable. RidEOn matey!
  • + 1
It comes from the factory as a trail bike but im slowly changing it into a AM bike but doing it without destroying the XC/trail character it has as i love the light feeling but it needs a little change in my eyes.

thanks for all the advice mate.

Ride on
  • + 1
Cool your the master of your realm and your ideas are superb!
A 140mm is just 20mm but huge in performance.
The longer the better, the stiffer the more pleasurable with stupendous satisfaction.

What size are you on?
  • + 1
One of your best videos so far my brother! Wish you all the luck and I too am an Enduro addict!
