This guy is an amazing skiier, but considering the incident in Nelson this past week, I really wish he were wearing a helmet.

Oh shut up and mind your own business. I think he's got pretty good risk analysis skills... jeeze.

Scott you should shut your mouth, im sure the skier that passed away also had good "risk analysis" all it takes is one crash you ruh-tard.
p.s. this is possibly the sickest ski line ever.

Let others ride the way they want to. You're just a child so I don't expect you to understand such a simple concept.
annnd yes that was possibly the sickest urban line ever done.

Pretty embarrassing that a child has more straight forward common sense then you, someone merely suggests a helmet in the skiers best interest an you tell her to shut up? You're American I dont expect you to have manners but for gods sake you impress Noone with your neandrathol like behavior.

Galen, you've completely missed the point and that's due to the fact that you have no idea who JP Auclair is so learn up before you mistake a comment on the internet... my lordie... ignorant childs!

Calm it down. It doesn't matter how good you think your riding is, or the fact that you may be a sponsored rider; accidents happen to everyone. There have been many injuries to date due to athletes not wearing appropriate protection (some hit close to home for me) and I think that wearing a helmet is a small step that could have saved many lives lost to extreme sports.

Lauren, it's as simple as this...
(Fill in the blank with whatever comment that you'd feel would make you and whoever else feel better)
(p.s. if you can, make it so it gets those other idiots feeling better because they don't understand a lick of free skiing history... thanks!)

@ scott-townes no mater how good you are at your sport, you should ALWAYS wear a helmet. it doesnt matter how good you are at "risk analysis" life changing or even life ending accidents can happen at any time. Look at the bmxer Mike Aitken, or Will Schooler, the skier who died in Nelson. You shouldn, in any way, discourage the use of a helmet. Pinkbike should really delete your Comment and/or your acount for doing this.

scott just shut up man. you know nothing about jp auclair. i talked to him a few times and yes he said he should have wear a helmet. he said it himself and yes helmet should be part of the freeskiing community.

Hey eandal, now I know why everyone is freaking out. You all, for whatever reason think I'm hating on people wearing helmets even though I always wear one while skiing and biking? No, I hate on those who always tell others to wear helmets because they're not respecting that person's right to choose. I've always defended helmet usage but I don't go around to other people who I don't know and that are clearly old enough to make their own choices and ask them to do what they're doing differently. Anyone who understands what freedom is will agree to that. You guys really need to get a grip.

Scott- using someone's age (or lack thereof) is incredibly ignorant/immature. I agree with you when you say that everyone has the right to wear a helmet if they so choose, but telling lauren to "shut up and mind your own business" is downright disrespectful. Maybe you wouldn't be so rude if a friend of yours died while skiing urban without a helmet...Get informed.

@ GalenMac Canadians dont have much room to speak when it comes to manners, we all saw the Vancouver riots.
- + 7
That represented a VERY small portion of Canadians that were drunken idiots and had nothing else to do. They would have happened regardless. Did you not notice the hundreds of thousands of REAL Canadians leaving? DO NOT judge my country based on the riots. Most of us have some common sense, and we have the dignity, respect, and manners to know better.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that BOTH counties have their ups and downs. I've meet more than one rude Canadian as well as American. I happen to love Canada as well as America. They are both awesome countries and I don't know why everyone has to always be hating on each other.

For someone to try and slam a country based on riots that happened is a joke, over 100,000
people were in the downtown core, and only 1200-1500 people were rioting, AND 1/4 of them WERE AMERICANS!
Do not judge on riots when every day there is a riot in the world. Go to wikipedia and look over the 100's of thousands of riots and then try and say that the whole WORLD has no manners then!
Grow up people.
Helmets are helmets, do not preach on a video of someone that they should wear a helmet. Thats an in head though and OPPINION.
Keep it to yourself because its going to make you look like an ignorant fool. Once they f*ck up, play the " I told you so card" but untill then let it be.

Who would have thought that my small comment would create such an uproar!
When scott-townes dies of a fatal blow to the head from not wearing a helmet, I will be sure to include this thread in his obituary.
