 Don't think a helmets gonna stop your neck snapping, it'd probably help if anything. I've seen vids of people learning backflips on step-ups, you've less distance to fall then, maybe try that!

 kk think about this for a minut..what is a fullface guna do? a neck brace would help but a fullface would make it worse, the piece infront of your jaw would just make good leverage and help push your heade back even farther putting more stress on your neck. In this case he twisded out a bit and landed on the side of his head wich is what prety much saved his back. All a full face is good for is protecting you from getting a face full of rock or tree.
