It's an awesome bike but I'm not a huge fan of an advertisement getting the VOD. Welp there's always tomorrow!

I dont mind, the way i see it every vod is an advert for whatever bike and sponsors the rider uses. Props to intense for funding such a sick video to advertise what looks like a fun bike.

probably shouldn't put down the business side of biking. If we didn't support the industry, we might not be where we are today. Plus it was still a great vid!

I was interested actually to hear a little more about the geometry, I think it's awesome that the BB sits below the axles.. I'm an engineer so maybe nobody else cares, but I'd love to try something like this and in some ways I have to say that a VOD like this for truly groundbreaking new technology is worth being highlighted today! There was great riding, videography and information, the research and development team for this machine deserve a day of recognition!

Yea looks like an M9 but it can't be a prototype because its got boxxers on it and boxxers don't do 27.5 yet.

If its from the article a fews days ago they had a standard m9 to compare it with. Someone must have got shots mixed up or thought no one would notice.

They did a 29er m9. That bike isn't it but they just have a 26" bike next to a 650b just to give a visual comparison between the two. Bigger wheels are the future.

literally the audio talks about they don't want the bike feeling heavy in corners as they show an M9 roosting a corner!

You have to realize that hey, it may say M9, but it may actually be a 650B bike. Companies label their prototypes that they ride out in public with current labelling all the time, because they may not have new decals designed, or they want to keep it under wraps if they can. "because it's got boxxers on it and boxxers don't do 27.5 yet" - Industry guys have access to things long before consumers, that may be a 27.5 boxxer for all we know.

Yet you need to realize hey, the video is called "Intense 951 Evo" therefore why would you place a shot of a different bike in the edit? It shows a lack of care and professionalism in the edit to actually make sure that the video follows through with what it was intended to deliver.

Adverts as VOD are not cool. I stopped watching when he said 'there really are no negatives', because that's clearly horseshit. It's engineering and physics, these things are compromises one way or the other, you cannot find a singular wheelsize that is objectively 'better' in every way, it is moronic to suggest so, unless apparently you're part of the marketing circlejerk.

Terrafire, 27.5" wheels have always existed, they are called 650B and are used on touring and randonneuring bikes since before mountain biking became popular. In light of your comment, are you then suggesting '27.5"' wheels are better because they are a newer product? They both have advantages and disadvantages (maneuverability & strength vs speed), saying one size has no negatives is just daft. A more fitting description of 27.5" would be 'jack of all trades, master of none'.

Ok, make an ad if you have to- but having a homepage dominated by advertising is bad enough- now VOD too? Besides, I think most people wanted one of these bikes before they saw the ad- it's as pointless as a Ferrari advert half way through Coronation Street. A few nice shots, but give VOD to the vids that get us amped to ride- not just part with our cash.

At the first round of the sda, the local boys who ride for intense, pitched up on their 650Bs and got smoked by a non local on 26" wheels! 4.6 and 8.4s off the pace.
The track was open, fast and super fun, so should have suited the bigger wheels.
Intense say no disadvantage.... it was expected that the local boy would win!
Think 2013 will be interesting, who does what, on what and if they still win on bigger wheels, is it the same margin as previous years etc.

There's so little difference that only a troll would care and only a geek would swear by it. Nino Schurter won WChamps on 650b against a field of 29ers, which should be impossible according to realistic, logical people knowing true facts who tried both for a fact. It was a good moment to shut the hell up all the increased contact patch, angle of attack people. It didn't... they still roll the same ball. People will never learn that it all depends... cuz they heard it so many times and still talk crap

Intense don't understand that a video of a bike being ridden well is its own advert. Do a closeup of the frame/wheels in a turn if you're THAT desperate to flog your new wheel size. We aren't idiots, we can read. We aren't blind, we can see the components.
Also in your voice over the sales/marketing guy says "we don't want to have it feel slow out of corners" and the rider comes into a corner and litterally almost stops.

Learn from the past.....why in the late' s 70s road bikes stop using 27 inch wheels and choose a smaller option like 700c? In was hurt the performance riders...I took a much more energy to start moving them and on big tours like giro d Italy, grand tour of Austria where you climb for 300km and more it took even more...the athletes start suffering and their competitive live get shorter. Put this on mtb, it should be faster when going down...but the long spokes will have to be stronger in order to resist the bumpy tracks. In case they bent , will hurt! On a enduro, a bigger wheel will compromise the athletes strength and resistance...that's equal to more hurts! This is the beginning of a commercial battle... what is better to us? enjoy ride, friends and earth...if you feel faster on big wheels go ahead!! I want to ride my 26 until I get 99 years old( im 41 so no that much....)
