Met the Nicest Guy on Today's Ride!
Well, I met the nicest gentleman on today's ride down my local trail! This all occurred after I had passed this fine young man, I don't want to mention any names (Mick Odell, summer camp counselor for HARD in Hayward California).

"sounds good...." hahaha stupid hikers thinking they should be the only ones on the trails that say all purpose trails and have bike on the sign. i've had quite a few unfriendly hikers on bike specific trails. scare the shit out of him next time with that horn!

What exactly is the ranger going to give you a ticket for? If the ranger does not actually witness the act he can not issue a ticket plain and simple. Goes the same for police officers. They have to witness the act because they are going to have to appear in court. Now this fine gentleman could have the ranger issue you a citation in his name but that means he would have to appear in court for the ticket. Anyways I always now almost stop for all hikers in this area because for some reason they never hear me even when I am yelling. More than likely due to the fact non of them can hardly watch anything past thier phone or take headphones out of thier ears to actually hear whats going on around them.

He was just threatening me because he thinks he is somebody. It would just turn into a situation where we are both proving our own points to the ranger with no witnesses... a he said she said situation. While I'm sure they could get me for excessive speed that will be shown on my GoPro footage (this video was recorded on my phone), I'll be able to prove that he refuses to walk his dog on a leash (Clearly stated in the trail rules that dogs are required to be on leash). I'll also be able to record this gentleman's excessive language and threats. I'll be sure to post anything else that happens, because he said he would be waiting to "catch" me again... even though he didnt catch me for anything this time.
Well, I met the nicest gentleman on today's ride down my local trail! This all occurred after I had passed this fine young man, I don't want to mention any names (Mick Odell, summer camp counselor for HARD in Hayward California). I passed this man doing around 13mph and YES I did call out "biker biker biker." He confronted me on the trail about "excessive speed," however got very quiet after I called him out for being a HARD employee and NOT having his dog on leash... But wait, it gets better.
During my run down the trail I narrowly (and I really mean just barely) avoided a log that was placed on the lip of a somewhat blind jump. The biggest and fastest jump on the trail. When asked about it, this nameless man admitted to placing the log, and said he'd do it "as many times as it takes."
I'll be wearing my gopro on every run from now on, and equipping a SUPER loud horn to my bike in case of new confrontations.
