Woodward Step up flip fail
This vid is kinda confusing, at first it looks as if he was going for a front flip, but after careful analysis you can see he was going for a backflip but got his buttocks caught in the rear wheel. YouTube link= https://youtu.be/Q9lf1Fmn1-s

Can anyone explain how the physics on this feat worked? How did he flip forward that hard after starting his backwards rotation?

as i understand it, it goes like this:
this dude was going for a backflip, obviously, and if you'll look carefully just before his rear wheel leaves the leap, his buttocks touches the rear wheel (as the describe says too).
the inertia of the rear wheel is the cause for the frontflip. the speed+the inertia of the rear wheel are, as we witnessed, strong enough to flip this dude in the air. most of the rear wheel's energy went to the body of the dude. as a confirmation for this - the bike stopped in its place, almost completely.
i hope i was clear enough haha
btw - it is one of the most fascinating bike fail i have ever seen
