dude that is stupid... we have to Pay FREEcaster (tell me how that makes sense) to watch! Thats such crap. Lets just add one more thing to the PPV list that is already ridiculous.
Sounds like you guys need to get a better internet carrier. I didn't have a single glitch with the image and it was crisp to boot with lots of cameras. Well worth the 10Euros. Freecaster has definitely stepped up their game. Hopefully they will find some strong sponsors so it can be free next year.
Whatever. It worked fine for me. BBC Iplayer won't let me play their shit, even if I buy a TV License. So many things are only Available to Americans. Hulu which is a sick TV streamer only works in the US, for example.
I guarantee PB paid to have it free. Well I bet they got sponsors to pay for it, due to the high viewership. It is IP driven, so it depends on where your IP is from. Some ISP's such as Primus are are often routed through American servers, giving you the problem of occasionally having a whack ISP.
It was kick ass coverage. Lots of camera's, good operators. Someone has to pay for that shit. Would you rather pay X dollars or have to watch commercials? I would easily pay for it, especially between a few friends. It is only like $20. Not the $150 that UFC charges. As many of you broke ass MTB'ers know, Camera's are not free, let alone Servers/Operators/Commentators/AVID Suite Truck is not Free.
Buck up the few dollars, hook it up to your TV, watch on your couch. Or move to Canada.
@ Scottytoohotty: If you wanna watch Hulu outside the States you just need to setup an VPN with a American IP. That's is how i watch Hulu and Netflix from Canada with an Californian IP..
ugh... can't figure out this "free for canadians thing".. what a drag. Sounds like maybe service provider dependent - brutal. If anyone figures it out, send me a note. Thanks.
umm that was no champagne.... But, nice to see the real men not wasting any. And as Wyn Masters said the other day, and I'm Steve Smith " I skinned the skin off my balls, and still came in second... " Damn was that the best move on the whole day. Cheers to Stevie!
Monster Specialized = best team of the year, such an amazing year for that team,Troy's first world cup season and wins the overall + now junior world champ how great is that .Stevie Smith made Canada proud for taking 2nd place
Congrats to Neko Mulally for getting second by such a close time after being out all year with a broken wrist. he would have done it for sure if he wasnt out for the whole season.
HELLL YEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! THAT IS WHY SPESH IS BEST!!!! Knew hill would pull it out of the bag. And stevie smith. Probs my favourite two riders on the podium. Gutted for peaty though after a 1st place qualy, woulda been nice for him to get it again.
what he meant to say was there are no quali's at the world champs they go on last years world champ results & since Peaty was the defending champ he goes last, pity Peaty didn't have a good run but stoked for Sam & Stevie great result for both of them well done!
Wonder how much it impacted Gee and Peaty's time with the downpour - wonder what the results would have been had the weather been steady. So happy for Stevie Smith getting 2nd!
Congrats Sam Hill for winning and everyone that entered. It was totally awesome that people who lived in Canada got to watch free... If you could get it to freakin work... Dissapointed that I couldn't watch
Rock on Sam and Troy! Now PayCaster just needs to let everyone watch the damn show! I'm bummed I didn't get to watch it... I wasn't about to pay $15 for a sketchy webfeed.
I like how lauren goes in with no sponsors or real backing and almost gets top ten in the xc and then has a 13 second gap over second place in downhill!
way to go!
Just got Freecast to work, but I had to VPN into work. Home network is Shaw, but work network is corporate Telus. When it works, it doesn't ask for a code.
YAAAAAAAAAAHHAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WORLD CUUUUP WINNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER: SAAAM HIIIILL ... What a monster! He deserves it!! congratulations man!!
I was so impressed with Stevie's run. Looked for sure like he had lost it but he somehow stayed on the bike. Then he finishes 2nd, Props!
Good job Sam!
Bad luck for Gee and Steve Peat, the course was sooo wet for them.
@Kurtsucks.. same here, even worse maybe. I can't remember seeing any mountain biking on the the news. I figure stezzysix was joking about it literally being racist. And to anyone looking to watch sites blocked to your country you can normally find a proxy server that'll sort it and make it look like you're from there.
Grant Allen was in the 1st ever RedBull Rampage & he will be there for this years Rampage & will hopefully qualify he still goes huge over everything google him if you haven't heard of him he is in 1 of the NWD vids can't remember which 1 think it's NWD 4 or 5
He breaks his leg on a huge 40ft step down road gap in the NWD vid that took him out for along time check it out it's 1 of the nastiest crashes you will see Grant Allen is an Aussie Freeriding Legend!
Any Aussies in the redbull rampage? There's been a few, but being in the US and being invitational only, means in the past there hasn't been many. I'd be interested to see who's on the list this year actually. We used to have our own version of the event however, and speaking of Sam Hill, he actually won the event in 2003. Yep that's right, Hill won a major freeriding contest - big no footer over a huge gap, was the gnarliest trick of the whole contest (this was 2003 mind you). Same year Grant Allen was the only one to hit the biggest drop on the course.
Oh yah i do remember Grant Allen...dude that guys gotta be pretty old by now..is he really going for this years Rampage!?...yup Grant Allen i stand corrected..
yea mate Grant will be there hopefully he has been out in the middle of nowhere South Australia practicing his old ass off & getting video footage to show the organizers he's still got it (which he does) he will probably die of a heart attack at Rampage because of his old age but he will be ok with that haha he is going to kill me when he finds out who i am haha that comp that Sam won was the Aussie RedBull Rampage at Jindabyne there was a DVD made of the event check it out its def worth watching (if you can't find it i have it on DVD) the course was f*cking insane it had some really nasty shit in it that even scared the big name Canadians like Bourdon, Simmons & co that came over for it & Grant was the only rider all week to do the big 40 foot drop at the bottom of the course iv'e never seen a course like it since most of the guys that ride comps today like Wankworx & such would shit themselves it was insanely steep, rocky, very technical & very nasty a true test of DH Freeriding just like Utah please RedBull bring back the Aussie Rampage!
no Hill in 2011, the world champs is it Champery, Sam Hill is amazing on that track, his run will be insane. although im not a big fan of Hill he is an awesome rider, i never thought he would win, i thought Minaar, Atherton or Gwin would win, after Sam's recent injury.
