mmmmmmm, I think the purpose in having the people in the pic is not only because one is taking a pic... it gives it depth. Seeing the guy on the ground shows how big that gap actually is. Other wise with the angle the shot is at it won't look big at all without the people as a backdrop. In other words come on its called simple photography.
