Yah dude this bike is ancient now. Also some of your info in the buy/sell add is wrong, it's 5" of travel not 6', and this is from 2001 not 2003, and if you paid $2400 for it new you got taken mate, msrp on this bike was $1450 brand new.

I sold a VPS Team with Monster T's, Hayes 9's, and mostly XT drivetrain for $400. If you really want to sell this bike, you should drop the price a bit..... Maybe down to $250 if you're lucky.

during the welding process their is small stresses in the frame. the frame tubing is subjected to these constant stresses known as creep (weld heats metal and expands then retracts when cooled causing stress) . believe it or not but creep ( stress(time), weakens the material and is the reason why such things have a lifespans used or not used. bike frames are obviously strongest wen brand new, were as the same frame that's been sitting " even though never used" will in fact be subject to longer creep that can cause the ("crystalline lattice" to slip planes , as well as interstitial substitutions in the metal lattice. this produces stress risers). i thought this was really interesting learn t it in my materials class thought id share it with everyone..
