If you are wondering about the rack in the video, check out Arbutus Racks here as they are a new rack company based out of Victoria, BC. Stay tuned for a test on the rack right here on Pinkbike in the coming weeks.
Nice Vid and the place is just wonderful (I've been on the Island two years ago and I keep on thinkin' about it like a dream...). I'd have a question about the rack though: is it ok to drive with the license plate being hidden behind the bikes?
^^ hah. I feel as though mt wash sorta took this year as a bit of a right off. winter hit hard, summer was late and weak. there was still snow in august haha. The trails that are open are super fun though cant lie.
I know. I asked them why don't you fix Back in Black - it's your self-declared signature freeride trail and the best trail on the mountain. Instead they spent the first half of the summer doing maintenance on the green line and the other easier runs. The thing is they make almost as much from a single day of bike/gear rental and day pass as they do from a season's pass. So who are they going to cater to?
That being said, they had a hard job with all the snow this year. All the wood features were broken from the 30' of snow we had and needed to be re-built. Props to the trail crew for a lot of hard work.
i juss broke my wrist up at washington, but this video makes me realize how amazing it is up there, too bad there is still so much snow and so many closed trails, but the trails that are open are still slick as hell!
I think I passed you just after you hurt yourself, was it on that stupid jump on Time Warp that shoots you off the trail on the right down the rocky hill if you hit it straight? I almost crashed there...
all you guys riding this nice ass trerrain little to no rocks or boulders? come to bootleg canyon boulder city nevada and see how fast and smooth you are. you will bleed before you leave!
I've ridden Bootleg, most of Colorado and NM... Now live in Bellingham, WA and you have NO IDEA how rough roots and dirt can be!
And trust me... you don't know what STEEP means, either! I THOUGHT I did... then I learned,
dude, don't talk about what we know up here if you haven't ridden on VI... this is vid accounts for 2-5% of the different terrain you can find here on VI... there's more than enough places on VI that are plenty steep and plenty rooty..! ridiculous amounts of roots in certain areas, we know roots and steeps like north shore cats do, VI locals know steep and rooty very well...
Oh god Demorick you are SO hardcore...I can barely contain how impressed I am by your sick terrain and skills...the pic of you sitting on your bike on the highway really conveys the intensity of Nevada to me as well as lends credibility to your statements.
