Enter the Dragon // Blake Samson ~ BikePark Wales

Growing up in Wales, the story of the red Welsh Dragon is one that you learn whilst you are toddling around. The historic battles that formed what Wales is today and the courageous Dragon that freed the citizens. With the red dragon flown proudly on the countries flag, it is a constant reminder of the times that once were.

Many centuries ago, dragons roamed the land. The dragons battled over every town and home in the land. An ice dragons cold hearts could plunder worlds into eternal winter. Trampled towns and cliff top battles was all that lay in the dragons wake. Until the red Dragon, saviour of the land, put an end to their wicked ways. Blood pouring from its chest, the red dragon took a final blow at the ice dragon, liberating the cities from its wintery past! Returning to its cave, the red dragon fell into an endless sleep, and was never seen again.

Until now!

Blake Samson steeds his Saracen Ariel down "Enter the Dragon" at BikePark Wales.

I don't know what to write so I'm giving you waffles
recipe:
2 eggs 2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 cups milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon white sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions: Preheat waffle iron. Beat eggs in large bowl
with hand beater until fluffy. Beat in flour, milk, vegetable
oil, sugar, baking powder, salt and vanilla, just until
smooth. Spray preheated waffle iron with non-stick
cooking spray. Pour mix onto hot waffle iron. Cook until
golden brown. Serve hot.

...can we see that superman just one more time? wtf pinkbike, please delete my account already
  • 18 1
@ sushi - I'm withholding props til I try the recipe.

@sicsoma - seeing the comment under your headshot leads me to conclude you created an account almost immediately apon finding this site as, scanning through any of the posted content, rather quickly shows that this is a more gravity/all-mountain/dirt jump oriented site. Don't put it down because it's not your thing. Nobody forced you to join.

Ha. Ha ha. He said beat. Ha ha. Ha.....

In your recipe you forgot to mention fold the ingredients. Do not mix.

The following are the steps I took:
1) Opened web browser where pinkbike is my homepage
2) Looked at the latest news saw this video
3) Watched the video
4) Read first comment which was this one
5) Died of uncontrollable laughter
6) Others entered my computer room and also died of laughter with me.

Best comment I've seen in a bit...Rad

I love waffles.
  • 2 1
LMAO!! God I love my mountain biking brethren.
  • 4 1
Now, will this recipie work for pancakes aswel or will I be wasting my time?
  • 4 2
 I think it might work
  • 2 2
These waffles are going to be my breakfast tomorrow!
  • 4 1
for pancakes add more milk so that batter runs more...doubling it on this recipe will probably be too much so add a bit at a time until it thins out...
  • 2 2
Suddenly I have this desire to make waffles..... ;-)

Blueberries or raspberries are a nice addition to a lightly browned waffle.

I've actually met him, such a genuine guy, really good fun to talk to as well

having been to wales and meeting only one person who could speak welsh, despite all the road signs being in welsh ( i think "warning, merge with traffic" translates into "wrrfstyclllddeewwss wthgevxgyhbbcccmm errtsgsv bnuuvdersxd" ) it's nice hearing anything spoken in welsh, esp. a myth/story. some sweet riding too of course.
  • 1 0
 Subtitles FTW!
  • 5 3
Nobody in South Wales actually speaks welsh. Still plenty of native speakers in the north though, half the guys in my office speak it.
  • 6 2
Plenty of people in South Wales speak Welsh dude, I'm one of them.
  • 8 2
The Welsh language is the most British thing this country has left , I think it's great that all the signs have Welsh and English , even if less than 20 percent of the Wales can speak it.
  • 1 2
 ^Never been to Scotland then....
  • 8 0
Domo-eh? When he says the most british thing, it's because this is the original language of the Britons. The scots had Gaelic which is from Ireland and 'scots' which is a variation of Anglo Saxon I.e. English. Welsh and Cornish are the only dialects of the Britons original language you'll find that are actually spoken these days. They're are lots place names and words all over Britain to remind us though. Where I'm from we call valleys combes, in welsh it's cwm, like cwmcarn a DH spot in South Wales. Also a shit load of mountains all over the uk have retained their original names in welsh. Sorry for the rant, but I love the history of my lovely little island.

I have domo-kun. I'm just not sure what you're trying to say?
  • 1 0
Alright, well generally speaking, welsh is more widely spoken in north wales than south. I know a few people from south wales, and only one of them speaks it (probably because he grew up on a farm in the middle of nowhere). Not so much need for it in the cities. Most of the folk in north wales speak welsh.

Always good to see something different on Pinkbike.. well done Laurence... Particularly for advocating Welsh Trails..
  • 18 7
An intro that is 50% of the video is never a good idea.
  • 5 2
I agree. I like videos where the riding starts at 0:05 and not at 1:32.
  • 1 0
I'd watch GOT or LOTR if I'm looking for dragons.

Inyg person sydd galli redio beic fel hyn ew beast! Mea bachgyn hyn yn gwneud y trails edrych easy ond arol reidior trails fy inain maer trails yn galed iawn.

I understand welsh fully and can speak it fluently but my spelling is shit is both English and welsh.

Plenty of people speak welsh in both South and west Wales. Goes without saying for the north.

As for the video it is sick. This trail is challenging at the best of times and to rip it like he did he deserves huge kudos.

It's not called "enter the dragon" for nothing!

Come to Wales and ride some of the best tracks in Europe and IMO in the world too!

I doubt Welsh history is a priority on the American curriculum. That's not a slight BTW - I'm English and I didn't know the origins of the Welsh red dragon.
