Wow... this has been on the homepage for a while and no comments at all. I miss the days when 4X was a big event paired with most of the downhill races. People commented on it back then.
What? They go on and stay in the order they were posted do they not? If an article gets 1 comment in the first 2 hours of posting it tells me a lot about how stoked the pinkbike readers are on 4X now, a couple of seasons after crying so hard about it being removed from the WC. Sorry if this reads angry haha.
RaleighVoid, unfortunatelly no, news are not staying in an order of being submitted. I've metioned it already few weeks ago - some of them appear at the top of a page and some appear in the lower parts of the news stack, it happens too often to be just my oversight. Protour's news usually fit into this latter category and they literally have no chance of getting many comments as almost nobody can see them... I guess that track-preview video was submitted allright, hopefully full results will also apear in a proper place.
OK if that is true I'd say any article that is accessible without scrolling down is getting good exposure. I normally click on articles that have the most comments on, articles that interest me or ones with Akrigg in the title.
British 4X gets almost zero publicity it is shocking after following it for the last two years photographing it and getting to know the riders and the hard work thats put into the events, it deserves more.
For the love of dirt, somebody please bring 4x back to Colorado, and the U.S in general. 4x is the best combo of dirt riding and fun to watch, how can it not be more popular? You can even ride a good variety of bikes on the mountain style 4x courses, make a track and use it for skier/ boardercross in the winter. Bmx made it to the Olympics, come on now...
The large crowd numbers in that pic just sums up that 4x still has a strong following, it's shame the mountain industry has dismissed it so quickly, as it has so much commercial potential.
MORE 4X PLEASE....Still my favorite, right next to DH. If there was any form of cycling that could be TV friendly and create a following, it is 4X. And why is boarder-cross an Olympic sport and 4X isn't?!?!?!
It definitely is, so much energy and adrealine during this one short run when you have to fight to stay in the game. It's very demanding and all the training comes down to this few minutes of a racing action, but it's totally worth it.
I totally agree, the UK scene has so much potential, is a real shame it doesn't get the support it deserves, and without an injection of money/support to freshen it up i don't believe it will last the duration, which will have a knock on effect to the pro tour and worlds.
Stupid UCI Dropping 4X from the WC events. It has suffered here in Oz, stuff all races being run and even harder to try get a rebel series off the ground!!
it is breaking news/results from an international race series. i dont know who chooses the order in which they go up but they need a f*cking word!!!
been a fan of pinkbike for years but this is out of order.
sort it the f*ck out!!!
