She shredds for a 12 year old! This should be VOD as inspiration to everyone!
- + 27
agreed vod. not being sexist, but you dont see many women as good as that, let alone ones that are 12!
- - 88
I dont really care if you give me negative props . Good video but she sucks . She might be good next year or something but she sucks right now
- + 32
Taylobarr is clearly jelous cos shes a better rider than him where as your pictures consist of you riding a bank. get over yourself.
- + 3
Looks like the world is going to have a new Anne-Caroline Chausson (or however you spell her name)...
- + 25
i know im guna get negs just like TaylorBarr but i totally agree, shes just riding straight, i was expecting huge airs and stuff
- + 9
there is a girl at my school who was 13 last year when we rode whistler together and she could go faster than this girl and clear all the jumps on a-line so i dunno, this girl definately will go pro i think but she isnt amazing right now
- + 6
amazing riding for a 12 year old. The bike looks a little big though. She could probably shred a little better on a bike she had more control of
- + 22
At 12 years old i had trouble buying a 50 dollar skate park, never mind a 4 thousand dollar DH bike, sure shes an insperation but how many 12 year olds out there can get a 5 thousand dollar bike? Or a DH bike at all?
- + 0
at first i was like 12 hmm he's ok then when her brother mentioned his sister i was amaised its a girl. this girl rips!
- + 4
Why can't everyone just be stoked that there is a young girl who is able to shred a mountain bike at such a young age? Seriously. All of you who say "She Sucks" I say go F yourself cause you're doing nothing to help our sport and certainly nothing to help the women in our sport.
- + 0
you guys that say shes slow. get a vid of yourself at what you think is a good speed and you might be surprized.
- + 1
lets take a minute to remember... whos parents forked out 10 thousand on a bike when yu were 12?
- + 37
must suck to be her brother.. ever time you go riding your little sister destroys you. good video though, we need more girls in this sport. definately should be a VOD.
- + 2
bike-person if your going to insult someone...spell it right. *cough* f*ggot *cough* I hope you know how to spell it now.
- + 18
"remember what you could do when you were 12"
in fairness, i didnt have one of them, and i didnt have the alps in my back yard!
not meaning to sound like a w@nker, she is frickin good for her age, full respect to her for it, but lets not get carried away she has had one or two advantages!!

good point. She obviously has the guts and the drive to push herself, but you cant forget how lucky she is. Look at the bike, I think when I was 12 my dad spent less money on his car than has been spent on that socom! Her family are obviously not short of a few pennies and that gives her a major advantage. But she looks strong no doubt.
- + 14
give me -props here, but IMO i think that all it takes is a dh bike and a trail, then she's 'the next female pro' Not saying she's not good, but i could do that on her bike on tht trail.
- + 8
When I was her age, I've done a drop of 1m with a city bike. I was always racing with my nephew. Now we are both doing dh-racing and freeride.
It's special that she is a girl of that age doing it. And she is going pretty fast. But it's not that she is a natural. If you put any kid of 12years old on a bike on the age of 9, the kid could do the same things as her. The naturals would go even faster.
- + 2
shes amazing no doubt, but i dont really see why ppl are giving exra props for her just because shes a girl, it really doesnt matter, its how commited the person riding is, sure anyone could do that, but mabye not a 12 years old, i know for sure i couldnt do that at 12, shes started at a young age and thats great, i just hope to see her continue her riding. i see guys out riding that are tooo scared to hit a little jump and they are 4 years older than her and have been riding four years. shes a tough one. but once again it doesnt make a difference wether its a guy or girl, its how commmited. keep it up
- + 2
wow, im twelve now and have a stupid giant stp and i can go way faster. She is not that good, and she has a really expensive dh bike . . . why would MTB cut TV film her? Theres many other 12 year olds who are waaaaaaaaaay better
- + 1
she pins.
thats rad as, i want her bike.
but wow, some of you guys are real bitches
"naaaah, im better than that 12 year old chick, so this is shit"
f*cken grow up, hey?
she's a pinner, way smoother than half the 17/18 year olds i see at DH races.
she's committed too, thats whats rad about this
good effort, keep it up
...but i do wish i had the alps in me backyard

she is a girl i give her total props but befor i found out she was a girl i would of thought this sucks because if it had been a boy im 13 and go way faster than that but i give total props ones againg to her for going out there and showing that girls can kick ass. so fuck you vtwintips i bet she is faster than you.
- + 1
shes good but not that good there were no techy spots, drops, stunts, and if you look at every jump she cases them. no shit you can go fast on a trail that youve riding 100 times and you try harder when you have a camera infront of you. not to mention you have a 4000$ bike and the alps. all you did was berms and like a 1foot drop. personaly i would not get to exited we could all be doing the same thing if not better if the same thing happened to us. and when i was 12 i hit a 3foot drop on a shity super cycle
- + 0
why all have tallent... but do we have enough money... if you could not buy a bike you cant go pro so if you see she has a really expensive dh bike so i dont know if she is so good.. How many 12 years old could buy a bike like this? Just think about that
- - 1
yeh but if you are actually good you shud be able to pin on any bike u have...and someone shit on a 4 grand bike will still be just as shit as before. she shreds. end of.
- + 0
she's a pretty good rider, but lets face it, how many 12 year olds get an intense socom and have a bike park near them? also all she really is doing is just letting the bike do the work. if any 12 year old started at 9 and had a pretty decent bike and a bike park near by,then they would be going the same speed to
- + 0
haha! She was only just 12 when that video was shot... For those that wanna know it was an Intense 6.6 Small with 24" back wheel, 26" front - She is now 13 riding an Intense Small Socom with Marzocchi Air Forks and Shock and Pink Hope parts... check it out at www.followmydream.org

Give me negative props if you want, but shes still crap.
Im only 14, been riding for 5 month and im way better/faster than her. And i ride a hardtail, her bike is far too big and the suspension settings are too stiff for her.
Oh and dont bother judging me by my photos cos i only just joined and have no proper ones yet.

People wont judge you by your photos because no one gives a damn about them, what they will judge you by is this dumbass comment. Welcome to pinkbike douchbag. And I love the way people whine "dont care if you give me neg props" - that pretty much translates to I REALLY DO CARE so Im over-compensating by saying the complete opposite to save my precious feelings. About 4 other people have written it in these comments alone. Pathetic.

I am not so sure the flaming helps anything or anybody. What about simply appreciating that others love this sport and then being amped for their achievements. No doubt, many many people on Pinkbike can ride the tires off me, but I challenge anyone to love the sport and what I get out of it more than I. Each of us is where we are along the spectrum of progression. It is something we can celebrate, or compensate for. If we are a community, then it behooves us to support one another rather than tearing each other apart.
- + 1
Have your parents call me... If my kid saved up the money for a bike I'd be so amped I'd probably help em get some cool bling to go on it; teach em how to build wheels...
Honestly, I know that we parents each have areas where we are not the most reasonable. Education is the key to changing perspective. I encourage you to research the costs of riding, from bikes/parts and maintenance, travel to venues (if you need a ride to get to a riding area) etc. Do some side-by-side comparisons with other activities (for example, owning your own car, with insurance, gas, maintenance etc. another sport that might have club teams with club fees, traveling expenses etc. or even skiing/snowboarding) I wouldn't be surprised to see riding a decently equipped fully, or a pimped-out hardtail or DJ bike matching up very favorably to some other activities. Put all these down in a matrix (use a spreadsheet) and educate them, show them how committed you are to doing this and why. Note the benefits and drawbacks of each activity too, focus on the health benefits and the benefits of not requiring petroleum products to make the thing go (biking is very green when compared to driving).
There are always some in each community who are not positive individuals, but in my experience, riders are fine people, and I've got friends from around the world as a result of conversations started while biking. Biking has also given me some of the best friends I've ever had. We've been in each other's weddings, planned vacations together (Whistler, Moab, Eastern Washington, Grand Junction...) supported the growth of each other's children, and provided a support network for when life goes to hell in a hand-basket.
Don't give up on your dream joexspocent92. There are those of us out here who hope you are able to find what we've found in riding.
p.s. I was 40 before I got my first REALLY sweet fully set up just how I wanted it. And that only happened because I got a screamin deal on a slightly used bike on ebay and then pimped it out the way I wanted it with wheels I built myself and other cool bits. It may take time. Summer's almost here (our kids are in school until June 22!) so go out and shred on what you've got.
