Trail update for Praireview, Bragg Creek Trail update for Praireview, Bragg Creek
Prairieview Update for those who may be afraid to go to K-Country, thinking there will be snow on the trail...WRONG! I rode Prairieview last night, and not only is it snow free, it's almost mud free - there are only a handful of puddles on the Jewell Pass portion. I had not been on this trail for a while, and was surprised to see how wide the downhill has gotten. If you don't like to go over roots and bumps, stay home - don't go around them! This trail used to be classic single track, now it's almost double track throughout. Before you drive, you may want to check with K-Country (673-3985 or ), as there are currently several bear closures in the area, including most of the trails around Kananaskis village.

Josh Bender Hucks Josh Bender Hucks
Some of you have probably heard of Josh Bender. This guy has been hucking himself off of ridiculous heights, sometimes making it, sometimes not. At the NORBA races in Deer Valley this past July he sparked a huge contoversy when he hucked a 30 foot double retaining wall after the end of the downhill races. To read an interesting article on the event and to see video footage of the huck go

COP downhill #4 race results and pictures COP downhill #4 race results and pictures
Last Saturday almost 50 racers took part in the Downhill race #4 at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta. The day couldn't have been better. Warm temperatures, sunny skies and a well designed course made this an excellent event. Racers battled it out in 4 different categories; senior men, junior men, women and hardtail. The course featured a nice double just seconds out of the start gate, several 3+ foot drops, single track and a steep descent with a nice launch at the top ending in a 90 degree berm turn. Instead of racing, I was the picture guy for this race so enjoy the .

We came, we saw, it kicked some ass. We came, we saw, it kicked some ass.

On Saturday September 9, 80 tough riders took on the Bow Cycle Bowness Nationals- race of pain in Bragg Creek, Alberta.

The conditions were perfect - running slightly cloudy 10 or so degrees, and NO RAIN!

Right off the bat, I will have to say that this was pretty much the best organized race I have ever seen ...

Dual Eliminator tonight! Dual Eliminator tonight!
Tonight out at COP (Canada Olympic Park) they are staging the weekly Dual Eliminator night. Come out and go head to head with some of the best riders this side of the Rockies. The fun starts at 7pm and runs till 9. Entry is 14 bucks.
The course is a good mixture of fast turns, table tops and a sizable double jump at the finish line. If you don't wanna race come out and see the event. Contact between the riders during the race, has been known to produce some spectacular crashes and carnage. As well some of the guys and girls are going big and showing some great style on the airs.

Heh, this one really kills me! Heh, this one really kills me!
I am not sure what you had up your sleeves for t-shirts but I thought
I would throw something at you.
This is just an idea, you would need to find some royalty free image
(or not) and put whatever text in that floats your boat.
This is just a concept... Pic would go on the front of the shirt,
logo on back. I kinda like "share the ride" as your catch phrase,
plus it is consistent with your logo and kind of embodies the feel
of your site but that if you wanted to use "We'll ride anything,
even your Momma!" I wouldn't be upset.

This nice little drop in Calgary claimed 3 BB's in a very short time! A nice 10+ footer to a trany. The landing could be a little steeper. Check out myself, Danny L, Wade S, Mark D, and Scott T on a typical urban ride. (Some of us had to walk home Frown
BTW, that is the second one for Mark that week of this same drop!

Burning Hot provincial Championship race results! Burning Hot provincial Championship race results!
Race results from the September 2-4 Provincial mountain bike championships in Hinton just arrived. Here are the and the provided to us by Harvey Heinrichs. According to "Mental" (one of the downhill competitors) just under 40 riders braved the snow and rain in Hinton for the Downhill Provincial Championships. If not for the mud and snow, the course would have been very easy. Mental has won the Expert class (Master 30-39). His time was good enough for 5th overall including elite. Congratulations! Glad to be using flats Mental commented. There was no possibility to clip in, everything was completely covered in mud. from the cross country race submitted to us by Andrew Soon.
