Malverns Classic 2019 Cancelled After Heavy Rainfall

Unfortunately, you haven’t misread the title of this article. Due to heavy rain and despite our team doing the best they can to mitigate its effects, the decision has been made to cancel the event on health and safety grounds.

From the bottom of our hearts, we apologise to all the visitors, riders and traders who were stoked and had prepared to come to this year’s event. Refunds will be given, for any urgent refund enquires contact 0121 472 6688

Even though the weather is set to improve, another heavy downpour overnight made it clear that the site will become inaccessible, even before the crowds arrive - this wouldn’t be safe for any visitors wanting to get on or off the site and we would cause months’ worth of damage to the grounds of the beautiful Eastnor Deer Park on which we are situated.

Once again, we apologise but the weather has taken this decision out of our hands now and we can only promise to be back and better than ever for 2020! Next year we are moving the event to August 27th-30th when we should have better luck with the weather.

Thank you for your understanding and please bear with us.

Yeah I really wanted that unicorn too Frown .....
Guess I’ll just wait for them to sort out another super rad pre order for it because they build unicorns on trust and if you can’t trust a unicorn who can you trust to bring the GNAR ! .....

I hope the people due refunds are understanding and patient with Si and his team, they've worked damn hard and now they have to unpick everything, it must be soul destroying.

I blame big oil companies, for using chemicals too cool down the planet, rather than admit too their part in global warming, so if want too blame some one, here you go!

 Malverns Classic - Refunds?
We have just refunded everyone that has entered the Dual, Quad, DH and XC.

The festival, parking, demo, ebike and enduro tickets are all currently being processed by 'theticketseller.co.uk' and should be finalised over the next few days.

You can enter the Malverns Classic in confidence knowing that if it snows in August next year then we will refund you straight away.

Yours in sport.

Can I enter the snowboarding & ice skating if you dont have snow bike events at next years Marvern's Classic?

A shame with all the work you must've put in, but after this week's rain understandable. Hopefully you guys have covered your costs and haven't lost out. I'm sure people wouldn't mind contributing if you have.

First and foremost, thanks Si and team for putting this on and the HUGE effort it takes.

As someone that raced Malverns in 92, it will always have a place in my heart.

With that said, you’ve got all that rain, BRING BACK THE LAKE JUMP!!! Hahaha!

What they said, but felt you guys need to hear that we understand.

Gutted. I was excited for this, albeit slightly nervous about the mud! A tough decision but probably the right one. I feel sorry for my little boy as this is the second time one of his Strider races has been rained off.

Totally gutted about this. But it will be back bigger and better next year!

You used up all the sunshine last year!!! Seriously though it must have been a really tough decision to make (but the right one going by the videos!).

Was really looking forward to this as last year's was such a good laugh, will put next year in the diary right now.

Gutted. I spent the last two evenings making Fat Tire Flyer mugs (ceramic or steel with carabiner handle) for their stall...... Wake up today to it being cancelled.

Well could be collectors items in 100 years or change the date for next year?

@si-paton Gutted for you mate. The passion you pour into this event is awe inspiring. Roll on 2020.

Raced the last Mountain Mayhem at Eastnor #quagmire - They didn't run it there again... Doesn't handle the rain well at all. Such a shame for all involved! :-(
  • 3 3
I don't want to bother them on the urgent refund line as they will be mega busy but does anyone have any knowledge on what the deal with refunds will be?
  • 4 0
You'll get an email from "TheTicketSeller.co.uk" regarding refunding the camping/parking etc, you just just need to confirm if you want a refund or roll over to 2020 event. You'll get a separate auto refund from British Cycling if you have entered any of the events, XC, DH etc.
