The free coverage of the semi finals is so poor. It really doesn't make me think that I should pay for the finals, it's actually having the opposite effect...
The webcam shot of the ski hill seems to be because they cut away due to a crash. I assume because they don't know how serious it is (e.g., in Charlie Hatton's case, which clearly looked potentially bad when they eventally showed it). Professional decision from the broadcast team.
@endorium: It changed during the stream. The women apart from the last five or so were only shown pedalling out of the start hut and then the last 30s before the finish.
As someone who's followed and riden downhill for decades, these guys are a disappointment. Cedric should do French commentary only and the other guys ok, but is no downhills, the slot should be at very least a character the riders and the public like, that's what Rob Warner and Eliot Jackson have that these guys never will. Human connection and communication is important, and if a rider goes down we like to know if they ok or not, sorry guys this coverage and commentary sucks, long live Redbull
It allows less people in finals, but most importantly it is broadcasted for free, so I watch it instead of finals... And then just check final results. I
Less people in finals so they can show full runs. More overall broadcast time.
I think it's kinda dumb, there are smarter ways to achieve that without taking anything away from the real finals.
Commentating has already improved over last time. They are pointing out split times more consistently and CG points out different lines, errors etc. The nearly full track coverage for the top riders is great. Unpopular opinion, but I'm not missing Rob Warner.
Shot of the ski hill , super cool!! Exactly what I’m watching for
Oh and if I here them say “ he has a real shot today “
To every rider that goes down I’m gonna lose it lol
Anyways go sports !
In the finals we get the full runs from top to finish. Something we never had with Red Bull.
Cedric left with 8min left in the broadcast?
