PRESS RELEASE: Ride Concepts

We have added two industry heavyweights to our staff, Paul Basagoitia handling global athletes and Rick Reed driving brand and marketing initiatives.

“Our recipe from the beginning has been to make the most reliable mountain biking footwear for the aggressive rider while giving a home to athletes who risk their lives progressing the sport,” said Brandon Dodd, founder and CEO. “With Paul and Rick on board, we are expanding into 30 countries backed by a full athlete program.”

As Team Manager, two-time Crankworx Slopestyle champion Paul Basagoitia is assembling a team that will reflect and support our “Ride Every Day” ethos. “We’re so pumped on the riders who have chosen us as their new home and I can’t wait to let the secret out,” said Basagoitia as he prepared for his latest big screen appearance in Any One of Us, an upcoming film on spinal cord injuries debuting in March at SXSW Austin. “I’ve seen all types of team managers in my career but I know I can be one of the good guys,” he said. Paul will continue to ride and create content for his personal sponsors while helping those with life-altering injuries to ride a bike.

As Brand Manager, bike and outdoor industry expert Rick Reed will oversee brand strategy and direction as well as media and communications. “We’re the new brand on the block but already have so many great stories to tell. From technical ingredients to creative design, being fresh on the scene presents the perfect opportunity to keep our focus on new solutions to a stale category," he noted before wandering off in search of cookies.

“Paul is a respected icon in the sport and we’re fortunate to share his passion and dedication," said Dodd. “Rick brings Tier 1 branding experience and innovative thinking, and he isn’t afraid to leave others in the dust on the trail. The party is just getting started.”

Ride Concepts is a rider-owned mountain biking footwear brand based in Truckee, CA. The Session series of flat pedal shoes is available now in dealers and online. Skills sold separately. For more information, visit www.rideconcepts.com.

Hey RC, Could you transfer some colors from the ladies designs to the mens? I have a size 42 (ladies max size 41) otherwise I would have bought me some wildcats navy/teals Smile I will be waiting right here.

Hey @Martinez242. Thanks for the feedback, I will let the product team know there is a demand for something brighter in the men's line. As a heads up, our men's and women's lines use unique molds, so a 40 in men's is going to have a different fit than a 40 in women's. So make sure you try before you buy. Ride on.

  • 1 0
Hey @Braench, we hear you. We are in the final stages of setting up Europe and you should see the shoes on store shelves in the next few months. Once everything is set up, we will have a dealer locator on our site that can show you exactly where to get them.

I was checking these out a Trail Head Cyclery yesterday, kinda bulky diabetic looking and significantly heavier than 2FO flats but a little cheaper.
  • 4 0
Hey @Beez177. Thanks for the feedback. Our shoes use a D30 protection system which does give them a more bulky look in order to offer better protection. If you are after a 2F0 type of shoes, I would recommend looking at our Powerline which is dropping this spring.

@RideConcepts please get a UK distributor. Absolutely sick of Five Tens quality now. I need the Wildcat shoe

@RideConcepts also guys any chance you could do a size 14 US/13 UK? I have to squeeze into 12 uk's. Don't want to take a clever to my big toe.
  • 2 0
@joecantello84: We are working hard to get the UK up and running right now and appreciate your patients in it all. As for the size 14us/13uk, those are in development as well and are expecting to release them this fall.
