My Mom is the BEST!Thanks to Mother's all over the world for letting us play this past Sunday, without them, we would never get to ride our bikes, play in the dirt or send gaps to flat! The
OSPREY BC Enduro Series (BCES), presented by
Smith Optics, kicked off our first race of the series in North Vancouver, BC, on what started out as a gloomy Sunday, turned into a beautiful sunny, Sunday, so thanks, Mother Earth, for turning on the lights, we really appreciate it!
This race was the SMITH ENDURO, Round
#1 of the OSPREY BC Enduro Series, a 10 race enduro adventure travelling across BC and Alberta. We'll be exploring the best trails and partnering up with the local communities to give you a true, locals-only experience. North Vancouver was no different, to say North Van is the epicentre of the Mountain Bike Industry in Canada is pretty fair and the support was overwhelming.
Next stop, Fraser ValleyThanks to the North Shore Mountain Bike Association (NSMBA)On Thursday night, I snuck out to the NSMBA Fiver race, and it was a truly unique experience; it's rare to meet so many people in one place who not only shred, but are all bike crazy, the race featured more shredders than an episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and it was put on solely by volunteers, with the aim of uniting the community for a quick escape from the weekly grind. Not to mention you are able to see all of your childhood idols out riding with silly smiles, from Pinkbike founder Radek Burkat to the Godfather of Freeride, Wade Simmons, to XC legend Andreas Hestler and even Trailforks' Programmer, Trevor May (he must know every trail in BC, virtually and physically). The point I'm trying to make is we all love bikes and the North Shore is one of those hubs that you need to experience.
The OSPREY BC Enduro Series is excited to give more than $2000 back to the NSMBA as a donation towards trail work, and if you haven't ridden the shore in a while, you should listen to Wade Simmons, he's the Godfather for a reason.
*
We give a donation to each local trail destination at every stop of the race series, if you'd like to help contribute, you can become a member of the club here.Let's get to exploring...The shore is an odd place, pickup your speed and float, and it's instant boss status. Miss that double, blow a corner, or day-dream, and it will rattle the fillings out of your teeth! If you're looking to relive your experience, or find your missing teeth, check out the route below.
With almost 300 riders, we decided we'd save their legs and give a quick shuttle from our staging location to the trail head, courtesy of
Endless Biking. It was a well-needed pick-me-up.
Let's Get to RACING#The Experience Is EverythingBC's own
NOBL Wheels, was out this weekend showcasing their custom carbon wheelsets, with zero engagement hubs. They'll be demo'ing their products at our races, so make sure you swing by and chat with Dustin Adam, he's more than capable on the bike, and he loves funny tattoos and truffle shuffles.

With so many women showing up these days, perhaps it might be better to say "significant others". It is less presumptuous that way!
Also, I'm not racing this year- so you bet I'll volunteer!
