Rémy spent 90 minutes shooting this one-shot-and-move-on edit on Whistler's DH and Detroit Rock City tracks. Rémy wanted to get an alternative to the iPhone clips that is still easy and fun for people to watch.

What does one-shot mean. Did he spend 90 minutes creating a 1'16" shot? I'm confused. I thought one-shot means something like that Semenuk section in the Unreal movie. I must be wrong, apparently.

i'm open to correction, but i think each shot in this clip was done in one take. aka roll up to the section of trail, film it once, move on to the next.

Yea, they meant to say "One Take & Move On". @remymetailler get your filming buddies to get a drone fast enough to keep up and one shot this next time!

Wide open pinned riding! Confused by the one shot thing as well.

@dasendurbro: Yeah, one take except for riding the last move on the rock slab into the corner twice.

 Well I counted 13 !

Totally agree with you. I did not make the article. The idea of that is that for each clip it was a one attempt. Had to redo it a couple of clips but that's it. On a regular video riders would normally do the shot a few times to pick up the best one.

@remymetailler: Thanks for clearing that up. Some proper riding right there!

I have ridden all those sections and I feel fairly fast for 40+ old guy, can place well in local DH races against the young guys. However, the speed he hits those sections is NUTS!!!!! Remi is rad

Yep. I am not fast, in any way shape or form, but watching him take the high inside right line on the off camber Upper Whistler DH rock roll and jumping into the final Detroit Rock City rock roll at speed, just wow.

@gramboh: yes....my ankles hurt watching that one

Why remi don't ride downhill world cup ? Smile crazy speed Smile
  • + 31
slow compared to the top guys, believe it or not
  • + 10
Remi is a sick rider! No doubt, but looking fast and then being actually fast in a race are two different sides of the same coin. Personally, I prefer to watch his riding over someone who super fast like Gwin or Minnaar, but so silky smooth you can't even grasp their actual speed.

Can't match for speed due to suffering with major arm pump causing him to struggle to hold the bars. Not what you want at World Cup level......
  • + 2
Being able to maintain the pace used for filming while going down a World Cup track in addition to the nerves of being at a World Cup Race does not compare
  • + 5
Remi is like a park rat on steroids... ridiculous amounts of speed and flow in his zone... but he has to be in his zone to perform...
  • + 7
 he only rides park

@Boje: Arm pump surgery is available if he really thinks he has a shot at racing WCs. I know some other riders have done it and tons of moto guys do it as well.
  • + 2
 @WestwardHo: He's already tried that
  • + 4
@CONomad: True, I have never won an Urban DH race or went to Rampage
  • + 2
@tim-from-pa: over longer tracks maybe, although for short stretches he's as quick as anyone else.
  • + 4
Stupid speed (when I would ride that fastWink )
  • + 2
At 00:31 - the fastest chairlift on the planet.
  • + 1
Fork flex at 1min 14s is mental !!!
  • + 1
That cube remains the ugliest dh frame on the market
  • + 1
I think he's faster on Commencal bikes.. Big Grin

@:26 is that French Connection? @remymetailler

  • + 1
thats the real shit right there.
