Selected by Matt Wragg - A simple, but perfectly executed shot today. Great colour, perfect placement of the rider in the frame and sharp enough to cut yourself on.
The type of people who say this is a bad or boring shot are nearly always people who have never picked up a DSLR and tried to get a shot as clear or well composed as this on a race run. Really sharp photo this!
This is just my opinion but i don't think this shot is awesome, of course it's well composed and some rules are respected and these make this a good shot but i think something is missing here in the attitude, light or background. I think you can make something a lot better with a D4 and a 300mm 2.8.
While I certainly don't disagree with you, Ross, this does bring up another question. Is POD for photogs or for the average every day guy who just wants gnarly photos?
(Playing devil's advocate here, I'm keen on the current spread of both.)
Either way, good shot. Really like how you can see where she's focused on. Plan the land.
I have figured out that POD is just as much about a good photo as it is a not so good photo taken in the spirit of taking a photo for mountain biking and personal interest. High-end photographers and photos aren't always featured because it's not really about just that. Just my opinion. I have a SLR camera that I have messed around with for years and have maybe a few awesome photos. It's hard and I respect all these dudes who make it to POD.
Start working at home with Google! It's by-far the best job I've had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go to tech tab for work detail
