he didn't have a helmet cause it would have interfered with his hair-a-chute, which he depoloyed in frame 5. he actually just floated down real slow after the canopy opened up....

im pretty sure a helmet wouldnt have saved him either...like seriously the minute his head hit the ground at that speed with that amount of force the helmet would have bust and than he would have slid on his face with no helmets...also he wears a helmet now sometimes after he wrecked himself skateboarding down a hill...JIMMY LEVAN IS A GOD deal with it

That's my dog Jimmy Levan. I got his number and just read what all you whimps wrote. I can't write half the things he said.........he must've made over 6K in photo incentives he said to me. yah, Alex Liiv hes a beast as well. It his decision to wear a helmet, and anyone saying to wear one, you suck and Jimmy would tear you a new one(and your all probably mtn bikers, and he could throw down crazier freeride shit on a bmx than you could on ur VP FREE or ARMAGEDDON so f*ck off

Hhahahahaha, yes he has the skill to ride a bike very well, but it's simple really, he choses not to have a layer inbetween his head and the concrete. I wouldn't say that that is a admirable thing, I would want to see someone walk away from a bad bail.

Jimmy Levan is one of the kings of disgusting gaps. He was even before Van Homan came around. And he crashes less than Van Homan so that tells you something about the level of comfort and control that Levan has on a bike. It's remarkable shit. He obviously has huge nuts too, but it's more calculated than a lot of other people in BMX or freeride mountian biking who just go for huge gaps/drops and end up crashing a lot. He's comfortable at very high speeds on a BMX and he's been riding huge shit like this forever. Still one of the sickest pics I've ever seen though!

Why the hell is there so many bmx'ers not using their helmets? This guy obviously has a great talent, but if he crashed this gap he would maybe never be able to ride again! My dad allways tells me "Son, its better to look "dumb" than become dumb"... thats f*cking true!

It is funny to see all the Pinkbikers who nag about wearing a helmet. Like they are going to change Jimmy Levan's opinion about wearing one. LOL. Levan doesn't wear a helmet cause he doesn't give a fuck and he's a badass. He has been riding for 22 years, which is longer than most of the jackasses that comment on this photo have been alive. including me.

I like the way you think a lil piece of plastic & foam will save you from breaking your neck if u bail on this. Full body armor, leat & full face might help you out, but then you won't make the gap with it all on. I think that's more what dagrizz meant. It takes ppl this crazy to push the level of the sport... yes it's stupid do do this without a helmet, no doubt.... but it's pretty stupid just to do it. I say if the guy is crazy enough to do it, let him & his crew worry about the injuries. I'm sure if he can do a trick like this he knows what can go wrong.

Haha. Real size bike. Did you mean real-sized bike? I ride both BMX and mtn bikes and both of them are real-sized. They are both sized for someone real like me. Not some Brit-twit with no balls. What kinda Norco you ride? Bet it's got at least 6 inches front and rear. The first Norco I rode had tuffs, bud. Go put on your helmet and jump a curb.

If you ride a hardtail for a while you will notice that your riding will improve, and once back onto a full sus frame you will ride alot smoother.
