Why is this in the Girls in Action category?? Is that Darcy T wearing a Sorge t-shirt??? I didn't see that camera angle in the RedBull footage. Shows how lethal this terrain is.
Grad filters allow the camera to properly expose the much less bright subject instead of under exposing due to the bright sky. It is a filter which is dark at the top and graduates down to a much lower level of filter or clear at the bottom.
@Patrick9-32: but the subject is in the top portion of the image! Also, the dark gradient follows the contour of the sky; can a polarizing filter do this, or is it clever masking in photoshop?
@hamncheez: Likely this is a digital version as you say now I look closer. I am certainly no expert though as I have only seen my real photographer friends using these types of filters.
So I hate to detract from the awesomeness that is this photo, because it really does a great job of portraying the scale and ruggedness of Rampage, but this photo has been in homepage articles quite a few times this week. With so many awesome pictures of mountain bikes being taken every day, can we get one not all of us have seen?
