antichavmilitia (Feb 13, 2009 at 4:47)

What sort of an idiot rides a bike with wheels that are two different sizes?? And he's not even sitting on the saddle. Thats just a bad representation on mountain biking and makes us all look like idiots!

antichavmilitia (Feb 13, 2009 at 4:48)

Joking by the way, its a sick photo!

george91 (Feb 13, 2009 at 5:43)

darkalleydownhill (Oct 6, 2009 at 23:28)

Man I really enjoy this pic; I really think you have a good eye and I cant belive you got this photo by self timer; I shot all the time and I know how hard it would be to take this pic, by your self. props bro. check out my new video. if you like photography you might like it.

www.pinkbike.com/video/103013

jerryhazard (Oct 7, 2009 at 0:23)

Thanks very much for the props - really appreciated, as this one is special to me. Over the course of a couple years, I became a master with the self-timer - so much that when I go to photograph other people riding, it has become difficult.

Checked out your Vid - wow. Really dig the angles, music, and the sort of pan & scan framing. Its almost romantic, like a fond memory - very cool and original atmosphere to it. dig it.

Keep up the great work

jerryhazard (Feb 13, 2009 at 10:12)

slabHB (Feb 13, 2009 at 10:36)

Great photo! I never comment on the pod but this is really good. Would be even better if that grass was greener, but i think its a great use of the fish eye lens!

mikedeere (Feb 13, 2009 at 10:41)

Congrats on the POD Jerry! Recognised the pic straight away when I saw it on the front page. Didn't know you were on here!

jerryhazard (Feb 13, 2009 at 13:04)

I've lurked here for quite a while, got bored the other day and thought I'd see what's what... THanks for the hello too!

hendu (Feb 13, 2009 at 20:11)

you took with with a digital rebel? i have one of those but i dunno how to do all the settings to make my pics turn out like this

jerryhazard (Feb 13, 2009 at 21:40)

Can't give a total lesson, but start with learning to shoot in RAW, and process your images through lightroom first... read the manual too, you'll be surprised how much it actually helps! thanks!

hendu (Feb 14, 2009 at 9:12)

alright thanksyea my uncle gave me it for free! cuz he thought i took some good pics at his wedding

haha fool, I don't have any shots in my gallery from the past year. Pinkbike is shit for uploading

jerryhazard (Feb 14, 2009 at 9:33)

Your flicker isn't much better son. Tell you what, son: when a magazine calls you up to a shoot their cover, or after you've ran a half a dozen or so shots in any publication, or maybe you get some real lenses, and then maybe, just maybe you come up with some interesting compositions, and maybe even after that by a wild stroke of good luck or absolute miracle - you learn how to expose an image properly - then, maybe then, you can attempt to critique my images. Until then, your a toy. and a simple one at that. I'm done playing with you. Buh-Bye...

bennance (Feb 14, 2009 at 21:32)

nouser (Feb 13, 2009 at 12:46)

POD !

joelw (Feb 13, 2009 at 13:20)

Theres fished, and theres just plain stupid!

Get a real lense, bet that looks crap for any other type of photography

jerryhazard (Feb 13, 2009 at 15:50)

So, which is this - in your not so humble opinion?

This was good enough for a cover shot for a major mountain bike magazine... But yeah, that paid art director probably didn't know what he was doing

A real lens? Dude, you're rockin' a kit lens - is that what I should be using? Well, at least its in focus and exposed properly, can't say the same for what I see in your gallery...

have a smashing weekend!

LoveBigHit (Feb 13, 2009 at 14:07)

We are the makers of music... We are the Dreamers of Dreams...

Below threshold threads are hidden

sam-hopkins (Feb 13, 2009 at 3:43)

I can't believe no body's said anything negative about this shit photo yet!

bunkey (Feb 13, 2009 at 3:47)

why do you think its shit?

sam-hopkins (Feb 13, 2009 at 3:48) (Below Threshold)

It's not unique. There are too many photos like this on pinkbike.

bunkey (Feb 13, 2009 at 5:11)

aye your right with it not being 100% out on its own, but to be honest, its f*cking hard to do something that nobody has done before: it might be similar to a few others, but its still a good picture! you at least have to agree with that, even if you dont agree that it should be pod?

jerryhazard (Feb 13, 2009 at 10:10)

hmmm.. and how many (of the photos that are similar to this) are self portraits? just curious... let me know.

bunkey (Feb 13, 2009 at 13:11)

haha lol, yh totally forgot about that point! im just trying to be constructive instead of plain flaming somebody for having an oppinion (all be it an oppinion with no justification).

jerryhazard (Feb 13, 2009 at 21:42)

Opinions are great, and at least you backed it up a little bit, I can appreciate that - no worries. Have a good one, peace!

sam-hopkins (Feb 14, 2009 at 10:14)

Shit, I didn't realize it was a self pertrait. That does make it impressive. Sorry.
