All of you kids who keep commenting that Kona needs to "step up" and make a completely new disign need to get a clue. Do you think that Honda completely re-designs their dirt bike line up every year??? No. They make small improvements as they are necessary and their dirt bikes EVOLVE. A large part of the reason that mountain bikes cost so much is because most companies are convinced that they need to re-invent their line up every year to stay on top. The simple fact of the matter is that Kona's rear suspension design is an extremely well proven one and there is absoulutely no need for them to change it.
well The frame is the same, btw I've got a kona stab supreme and I dont want the system to change btw cause I'm happy with my frame the only problem with this frame wich has already been fixes was that the frame was so f*cking easy to break or so : D stop crying aout kona sucks, cause you'll see some day a kona stab 2010 passing through you and you'll eat dust cause kona rocks
they could have beefed up the head tube, top tube..people have proved they break all the time..they should have fixed that instead of puttin those nice cranks on..
the headtube is beefed up it is now running a tapered 1.5-1 1/8th and the downtube is different. Also the frame has been lightened up quite a bit from previous years.
im one of the biggest Kona fans around here but....even im dissapointed!!!!!!!!This is so damn wrong, that they couldnt come up with a new desing, something fresh...i mean, its a lovely bike with top stuff and possibly rides amazing but for the love of god try and modify something on the frame...something big.Or maybe try another linkage system?
Is this some sort of new Earthy theme? I see no big changes. Only a poor suspension design with a 'band-aid' floating brake. Good components trying to mask a shit frame. What good will a nice set of Pirelli tires do on a Toyota Prius?
hey james- there's only one fork on that bike, and the fork even says Boxxer, there's just one of 'em, not two. "Nice Boxxers" would refer to two forks; or two bikes, each with a nice Boxxer. Calling a fork "forks" would mean that it splits into more than one piece twice. Like a fork in the road, or pitchfork.
you call it "forks" because there are two sides like you call shorts, short because it has two sides. Another example you wouldnt say nice short mate, he would think you were an nob

They did change the frame a bit for 2010 including a Tapered Headtube, internal headset for lower front end, and knocked down alot of weight, The bike weights 39.5 pounds out of the box.
jamesbigjumps u have just convinced me that it is callad a forks so for now on i will be eating with a forks and sporks stopping at the forks in the road. maybe chasing monsters with a pitchforks. all try and let rockshox know thay need an S and the end of the word boxxer. i knew changing the world would be hard but so far this is a good start nah what im sayin.
right them all you kona haters.....
id like to see you build a frame worthy of a world cup race, them you'll see how hard it is to build one and stop bitchin.
northumberlandrider, if you watched th world cup, and i meant watched every run, not just all the famous people's you'd realise that there is kona's they just dont get as much rep as they used to, and once again, if you think all konas suck try building a bike frame on your own, and if they suck that much, how come theres still shit hot pros riding them ?
buddy i watched every race this season and dude in a finals there aint a single one, well actualy i saw 1 ok thats it,
o and if your going to start the stupid (could u design a fame) issue up you serious need to think of some better arugments, and yes i have done welding and given the right work shop parts and material am confedent i could actualy build my own frame...
yes, but it still wouldnt be as good or rearly as good as a kona, fair enough you may be able to build a frame, but it wouldnt be any good, and what better argument?, in arguing that you wouldnt be able to build a frame, then yours saying its a stupid argument, ill agree that its a stupid argument if you build a race worthy frame.
idiot, kona frames are made in a huge factory on a budget being churned out by the minute, if i were going to build a frame trust me i'd make it alot better than a kona in terms of strenght and weight,
dont have the tools not many people do but am sure if i had the time i could, but thats not the point u morron kona as a companies serious need to change
they haev changed, just not that much, but if there doing well why do they have to change now?, they minght no have shit hot pro riders, but there bikes do sell, which as a company is what they want, i know this wont last forever, but they will change in the next few years when they need to, so stop bludy complaining and bitching, and go ride your bike.
would u guys shut it?nobody actually cares about who could and who couldnt biuld a better frame....u dont like Kona frames then get a nother f*ckin frame and stop dissin this one...
lol kona are shit hot for money because rich kids see them and say i want and thats why they cant be arsed to change because there making enough money to be lazy from that, accept for the cowan DS and maybe the stinky i cant think of any of there bikes any one has ever recommended or has been a consistance shower at races, sure the stab was cool but not any more its totally dated and over priced too, serious would u buy a stab over a V10
dude, the people who i know who ride kona are far from rich, and i must admint the stab has nothing on the v10, but you have to think that the v10 costs shit loads more, but kona and santa cruz are totally different styles of company, santa cruz make the best and nothing but, theres no budget bikes at all, where as kona make shit hot bikes that people can afford, i know theres alot of better bike names out there but kona still make good bikes.
well thats your personal opinion and prefrences, i think its a neat frame and it will be strong if you know how to ride it, it comes with great spec and personally i think the bikes are alot better looking the the glorys and the demos
with out question its good looking but that why i hate it, instead of design and tech its got looks, i take my riding seriouly not to care about how my like looks all i want is function, seriouly for DH the gaint glory and various other frames have it completely beat
danny-oli--------"hot-pro's riding them?" seriously they couldnt care less what bike theyr riding, its called sponsorship and making a living, its the other wa around. bike companies USE THE RIDERS to sell bikes not the bikes to make riders good.
dude if a rider doesnt like the bike they will not ride for the team, its not just about money, do you tihnk steve peat would ride for claud butler if they paid him more the syndicate does? no i dont think so..
and where do you get than idear from you morron, sam hill left iron horse pritty much as soon as they went bust and have u ever heard a sponcored rider insult his bike, dude stop talking wee
yeah......but seriously, ive been getting notes of replys to this comment i made, dont make any comments here couse its gettin kinda anoying,go out ride ur bikes and dont waste any time on each other any pointing out stupid comments on a bike.
im not a big kona fan but i like this bike and especially the graphics the white and raw/bronze looks good and with the little bit of gold is a good touch good job kona
