Yeah, I like that FINALLY some picture got POD that wasn't taken by some snobby photographer, no offence to the snobby photographers, but it needs to more of riders out riding their bike. This inspires me to ride ALOT more than some super crisp picture of a burm. Who gives a shit if it's a clear picture, the riding SUCKS. (not this pic, but pics of burms and stuff)
Wow, where'd that come from? I'm guessing you're one of the Snobby photographers? *pokes*
In case any other people didn't realize it, I was kidding, I appreciate what photographers do, JB, Palmer, Cory...But they ARE snobby compared to the riders who are out there with 100-300$ point and shoots having fun. No offence at all to them, it is what it is.
Im not trying to make an argument just some counterpoints.. what about the photographers that havent gotten to the magazine level yet.. I know JB and others have all started getting noticed through getting POD's it is a way to get recognition so I completely agree with your point but there should be a balance between what you think of POD and what I am saying of POD.. I know POD is the only way I will get noticed anytime soon
I think if we had 2 PODs.. it would be Picture of the Day.. since thats singular.. but i definately agree with u suicidedownhiller that those types of shots do deserve POD cuz they make you wanna ride but at the same time there are the other ways to look at it..
What ignorance? Did You not read my disclaimers. I know they ride, I'm just saying riders should be showcased as well. And Snobby is a loving word dude, not an insult, apparently YOU are snobby if you took insult from that. Just chill out, we're all riders.
snob (noun) "a person with an exaggerated respect for high social position or wealth who seeks to associate with social superiors and dislikes people or activities regarded as lower-class."
so we can basically agree on what I said as a conclusion and be done with it.. like he said.. we are all riders.. have fun and enjoy whats infront of us.. I did freak out on this a bit too much but hey.. 24 hours with a photo i dont like as POD wont kill me so we can relax and have fun
I'm sorry that independent thinking, and intelligence = douche-ness to you. Wake up kid, just cause someone has a different opinion than you doesn't make them a douche. By contrary calling someone a snob having never met them would qualify you at least a dick.
But I'm just guessing you'd rather have decline done by a bunch of kids with walmart point and shoots. Because you can bet that every photo in there was "ANAlyzed" before it was even submitted. (yes that was a dick comment)
Did you not see the part where I said snobby is a loving comment, I've said it 4 times now. And I never called you a douche, so congrats for slapping that title on yourself. I'm trying to share MY independent thinking, and you attack me? Way to contradict yourself. But please, keep talking, You're just digging yourself deeper...
I also beleive I said that I think professionals need to be in the mags, so your statement of me wanting decline to be done by kids with point it shoots is...funny.
So, Cool gap way to send it, that being said, POD? really, come on now, horrible quality and we have seen this before same angle only the other guy was on a BMX and there was no car.
This photo had 500 views when it became POD.. 20 minutes later the amount of views more then doubled.. it gained 7 favs.. POD really? Cool gap.. good riding Nick! stoked you got POD but lets be honest? Does it really seem worthy of POD?
what the frig!!! does every photo that makes POD need to be butterd up and sugar coated with photoshop, photo manipulation does not make a shitty rider any better, nor should it deserve POD. lets not forget the important elements here, good scenery, hard riding, where the photo brings out the best, and the worst of freeride biking. not some bullshit lens flared,360 wide view crap, plus you dont need to spend a billion dollars on a camera either.
You're all saying this picture isn't POD worthy, but if you click on photo in the menu bar, look left and you'll see 'Photo Of The Day' with a thumbnail of this underneath!
Sick picture btw!
yes, but does it belong there.. riding wise.. this picture is sick no doubt.. photographically it sucks lets be honest. it is PHOTO of the day, not riding of the day. look at it from a different perspective.. I give props to Nick great riding and im stoked u got POD but idk if it really needs to be one
we can see crappy pictures of ppl hucking all day long, how many times are we gonna see a dialed picture of someone hucking thats what deserves recognition
there are soooo many PODs of good photography skills, and not good riding skills. I say as long as the riding is good, the picture is good too, even if the quality is not profesional
Its Photo of the day. Not Supper Epic, Pro Looking Photo of the Day. Haters don't read to deep into it.OK. This is just a little guy who got grounded for this picture, Props. bro.
He didnt pick this for POD, it was chosen, so you cant be saying all this shit about how bad the picture is and how it shouldnt be POD. Who gives a flying fuck if its a little blurry, almost none of you guys have got POD.
Anyone should be able to get it. Not everybody is fully sponspored or has a $1000+ camera or is good at photoshopping. It's actually quite nice to see a picture that doesn't look photoshopped to the nines.
Thanks Dude. Haha the funny thing is that I took a photoshop class last semester but I failed and dont have photoshop on my computer. So i jsut had to combine the photos at school....
Anyways thanks dude
No problem man. I couldn't photoshop if my life depended on it. I don't care about the pictures anyways. I just want to ride and have fun. After all that's what biking is about right? And I would love to go to this drop. Anyways congrats dude.
Agreed dirtcool not everyone has proffesional pics on pinkbike its good to see some guys in the crowd come out. I looks like you landed it a little short from this angle
at first nic said it is a biking site not a photography site but it is photo of the day so the emphasis is on the photography. so is that enough detail into what i was saying?
