Yeah, I was pretty sure PODs required 210mm travel, fullface helmet, 31.5 inch bars, 2.5 diameter tires, and somebody doing something not that spectacular... But the bike looks big so it gets POD!
Jonathan, I agree with you bro. Some people can't take quality shots for the life of them. It's all about pre-visualizing a balanced shot (using the rule of 3rds if you choose to) with correct f-stop/shutter speed combinations, make sure you have adequate lighting on your subject, and then fine tuning it in Photoshop by adjusting the tones, contracts, and exposure, not to mention dodging and burning where needed. I'm not photographically illiterate. I understand photography, I just don't have an SLR.
P.S. The quality of this shot is fantastic. It's the content (the bar scrub on a BMX) that makes no sense to me. When I said I could take better photos I wasn't referring to the quality of the shot, I was talking about the content.
There are so many photos out there with equal quality but so much better content than this. It's a shame they got over-ridded by this.
now in defense of dirt works here. however toolish he may be especially when i ditches out on a 4hr mid night dj session for his worman. he has a pretty sweet pic from his last run down to virgin
You can do it but think about it, you have to crop it usually otherwise you end up with a really weirdly shaped shot. Not much point in correcting it, and it looks terrible when corrected.
With DXO software u can correct the fisheye without needing to crop. I think the effect is kinda cool; I still want to see it side by side with a corrected one.
