Results: Jackson Goldstone & Sian A'Hern Win the Thredbo Cannonball DH 2023
Given we rarely get World Cup events, it’s very special for us down here to have international riders competing and help to show and grow the sport in Australia. If you look at most of the national champs in other countries they are open to international riders, they obviously can’t compete for the National positions. Thanks to the international riders like Jackson and Nina for coming down for the event!

Pro Stage Results from EWS Petzen-Jamnica 2022
@j0lsrud: I was mesmerised watching this. 13 mins on the limit, riding DH speeds through challenging and varying terrain, stacks of pedalling, breathing out your eyeballs. ‘Barely professional’… you are taking the piss mate.

@caltife: Like every conservative - their objection is change. Doesn't matter how much you show them the potential benefits and opportunities outweigh the potential shortfalls and risks they don't want things to change.

Andreu Lacondeguy Out of Red Bull Rampage 2021 After Practice Crash
@sino428: Yeah that’s fair. I think what I’m getting at is more comments like “someone’s gonna die” doesn’t just apply to this event. MTB athletes are pushing the limits and those consequences at more than just Rampage, and is events which are perceived as safer, or with less risk involved. The risks are what intrigues us, it’s the underlying appeal of these sports.

Andreu Lacondeguy Out of Red Bull Rampage 2021 After Practice Crash
I haven’t been keeping statistics, only my perception, but the injury rate and nature of the injuries on the Downhill World Cup circuit feels like it’s equally or even more dangerous than Rampage. Obviously for Rampage the sample size is smaller and the exposure time is quite short, but look at the injury list for DH this last year and some of the injuries (Thibault!) - and it’s a UCI sport, with a stack of events - the exposure time is huge! Seems like you could apply the “but someone’s gonna die” to DH too. Those legends that are pushing the limits eventually find them. Heal up Andreu! I hope someone else can deliver on the looseness you bring.
