@Neil6: @Neil6: haha yeah looks funny, but what you're seeing is the cleaning action from the TiG torch, Looks like didn't do any paint prep at all because usually I need to wire brush that stuff off. Which I think is absolutely sick, shows the real process of the job. The black soot on the edge most likely from sanding/brushing off the oxide layer, or the welder had to weld sand blasted material. Source and I am an AWS D17.1 certed welder in all materials along with other certs aka I weld for a living.
