2022 Pinkbike Awards: Value Bike of the Year Winner
@JorgeSalgueirou06: I used your link to check out the radon bikes. And they look tasty. I have $3000 burning a hole in my pocket for a new bike and was going to make a purchase..but they don't ship their bikes to the United States. Any idea why? I remember I had the same problem 10 years or so ago when I wanted to buy a Cube Stereo. Couldn't get shipping to the US. Anyone know why they won't ship to America? Is it because we are all dicks in America

First Look: Vitus' All-New 2023 Mythique Trail Bike
@skywalkdontrun: high end aluminum parts is exactly what I sounds like. I put all aluminum parts. No carbon fiber. High end means I didn't put any cheap junk on it. I ride daily and hard. I've been down that road of trying to save money by being cheap when it comes to bike components and I've learned my lesson. I'm not sure which part of message you're taking issue with. I speak plainly and honestly. And as for suspension setup I don't think you know what your talking about. Most all bikes these days have a lower bottom bracket due to the slack geos. My personal preference is to have no bottom bracket drop but good luck finding that these days. I've searched extensively for it and it just doesn't exist.

First Look: Vitus' All-New 2023 Mythique Trail Bike
@plustiresaintdead: more likely 36+. I've got the 2020 mythique. I paid 1800 for it and now have 6700 in it. Literally the only thing left of the original parts is the frame. I put high end, all aluminum parts and it still comes in at 37. It's heavy but tracks and pulls straight, true, fast and grippy. Had to put 165 cranks because the it rides low which I don't care for. I'm 6'2. Never thought I'd ride less then 175 but the 165 make for a tighter cadence and it's not bad.

First Look: Vitus' All-New 2023 Mythique Trail Bike
@cypher74: I cracked my 2020 vitus mythique. Break occurred on the non-drive side at the brake gusset. Vitus wants to inspect it before commiting to anything. So I'm boxing it up now to send to Europe from San Diego. I started thinking about what I'm going to do if they don't warranty it and ended up here... looking at the same bike only the new and improved model. Does that make me a rube or a glutton for punishment? I'm pretty sure they will warranty it. You can see a layer of carbon beneath the weld indictive of a contaminant and there is absolutely no rust so...

First Look: Vitus' All-New 2023 Mythique Trail Bike
I own the 2020 mythique and the frame cracked after 2 years of riding. Break occurred on the non-drive side seat stay at the brake gusset. I'm a tradesman and experienced welder and my eyes see a clearly defined layer of carbon underneath the weld which is an indicator of a contaminant. Which by my reckoning indicates shoddy workmanship. Vitus wants to inspect the bike before commiting to anything so I'm packaging it up to send to Europe from San Diego. I paid 1800 for it. I've got 6700 in it now. I had just upgraded my wheels again and was extremely happy with my ride and how it handled even at 37lbs. It was fast, tracked and pulled straight and true and really grippy. Took me 2 years to get it dialed. And as soon as I did ....snap. Classic.

Why Shorter Cranks Are Better (According To Science)
165 is where it's at. I would never have thought so myself until I read a similar article on this subject just a couple of years ago. I've always ridden 175-180 cranks. Over 40 years of riding. My new Vitus Is so slack and long and the BB so low that I had to do something about it. I increased my rake and raises the BB some but when I went with 165 cranks it did what I needed it to do and surprisingly it was very comfortable. I'm 6'2" I never thought I it would be as comfortable as it is but it really is. But it do love me a high BB and some long 190-200 cranks for some big air. The way they make bikes now it's just not something that you can find...and I've looked. The intense recluse is probably the highest BB out there last time I checked and it's not all that high really. Happy trails y'all

Review: Shimano Deore M6100 12-Speed Drivetrain - Low Price, High Performance
@lkubica: over tightening likely. It kills cup/cone bearings then it kills the freehub bearings. I know. I did it for years. Wears them out fast.
