Opinion: The Price - Balancing Risk & Reward on Solo Rides
Knowing and respecting your limits is a skillset IMHO. Underappreciated.
I have a lot of thoughts/feelings on this topic but you hit on my paramount view - the ability to objectively discern one's limits, exercise judgment and, finally, find satisfaction.

Huhn Cycles' Chabo Steel Trail Bike Enters Production
LOL, you took a take a glance at this bike which looks like it was made on another planet inhabited by rockstars - built by craftsman dwarfs using beskar, forged in a sun and thought 'you know what? it's not a Ripley'. Or even worse, a basic stump jumper.
This is not value shopping material.

Myriam Nicole Recovering from Surgery After Thumb Ligament Injury
Yup. UCL tear aka skier's thumb is a fairly common injury around here w/ the winter sports. But, like you, I got mine from a bike crash. Sometimes the ligament retracts and they have to surgically pull it back and attach, other times, the ligament detaches and will heal itself if the detachment gap is small enough (mine). Took a bit to heal up tho, funky brace but I could ride one handed around town.

Review: Five Ten Trailcross XT Shoes
I own the Trailcross. Bought for bikepacking where I hoped a light shoe would be more comfortable and be more appropriate for hiking.
Unfortunately, the fit is different than the Freeride Pros which I prefer and they are just not that comfortable. Close - but no cigar. If they fit your foot well tho, it's a reasonable option.
