First Look: 2021 RAAW Jibb
@ProperPushIrons: agree. As a fellow UK ‘midlander’ my steep-by-modern-standards Giant Trance keeps it quick between the trees, and is nimble in the tight sections, whilst the short climbs and descents are still handled well (ride regularly at Cannock Chase). Super slack I think would make for a worse ride on these trails.

@slimboyjim: the ‘local’ thing needs explanation, you’re right. I live on the edge of Cannock Chase, so I can ride to the trail centre, or if I drive it’s 5 mins, tops. This, to me, is acceptable as ‘local’. Birmingham, albeit ‘local’ to us fellow midlanders, is quite a way to drive to Cannock (as an example). Tricky. Well done for avoiding the wrath of the missus though!

Pinkbike's 2021 Predictions
Agreed. My local trail centre is now heaving with e-bikes, and many seem to be newer riders (all ages). Buzzing back tyres, barging past, audible displeasure if they are being held up etc. And as technique is lacking with many of these new e-bikers, heavy, fast e-bikes are tearing braking bumps and ruts into corners. Nothing personal against e-bikes, but it’s a concern. PS as a 40-something with a dodgy knee I guess I’m in the core market for an e-bike, but I’ll keep pedalling my normal bike for as long as I can.

@DylanH93: true. My trails are tight and twisty too, I don’t want enduro-geo. I don’t want conservative geo, but something modern. The super steep seat angles are OK, but again, can put a lot of strain on wrists if pedalling all day.
