Have just started getting into mtbing, and absolutely loving it. Hadn't ridden a bike pretty much for 16 years before now. Young family at home, so its hard getting out, but when I do, I hit it as hard as I can.

First Look: Schwalbe’s New, More Aggressive Hans Dampf - Garda Trentino 2018
@zoobab2: never say never. I"ve only owned one Schwalbe tyre - a Hans Dampf in SG, and whilst it hasn't lived up to longevity, I couldn't fault the tyre itself. Like anything in life - I give second chances, fail a 3rd time and your out. And no, I'm not a dentist, i'm a broken assed carpenter so I'm not free with $$

Video: Practice Carnage - Lošinj DH World Cup 2018
Its got me buggered as well the lack of protection - especially the lack of gloves. I've found that having the protection doesn't give me anymore confidence when riding, it just (hopefully) hurts less when I crash!

Updated: Official Statement Regarding The Future of Queenstown's Gorge Road Jump Park
@cmcrawfo: Unfortunately in NZ, most of the cities and bigger towns have missed the boat future proofing in general, and to try and play catch up is such a cost wasting exercise. Not sure if its just a New Zealand common theme or what? Sad to see the jumps go, but Queenstown land is (like any tourist town) to good to "waste". On a positive note, it sounds like the council there realise how much $$ mountain bikers bring to the community so they would be remiss not to work with the locals.

NZ Enduro Wrap-Up - Videos
This will be a loose (fairly accurate though) figure from memory. Day 1: Stage 1 - there is two short but very sharp climbs. at a guess all up would be 80m Stage 2 - None Day 2: No climbing on stages. Day 3: Stage 1: depending where they end the stage, but there would be very little climbing as well. Stage 2: None Stage 3: not sure where they start finish that, but very little too. Now in saying the above, to get to the stages, you have to do a lot of climbing, and none of it is gentle easy stuff. I'd be very surprised if someone rode all the way up to stage 1, or 2 on day 1. Day 2 would be the same - except hugely more energy sapping. Day 3 is the heli ride, but to get to stage 2, your carrying you bike. I probably make it sound like there is no pedaling involved either, but there is, and you do have to gun it if you want a good time. I don't know how there isn't more wrecked bikes on day 2 than there seems to be. Riding it is difficult, racing it is crazy, everyone is a legend who does it. :)
