Pinkbike Poll: Would You Rather...?
Rode my 2011 Santa Cruz Nomad today and had a blast, it was my main bike till about 6 weeks ago. It's considerably easier to corner on tight stuff than my 2021 Norco Optic. There's no doubt 29" roll over rough stuff way easier, but the longer modern bikes take a lot more body English to corner properly, something I'm definitely yet to learn

I agree with your concern, but land managers like National Parks etc here actually recommend people don't build a fire ring. It's because building a fire ring can have a greater impact by moving rocks and disturbing the various things that live under them. Instead they just recommend keeping it small and not leaving a fire unattended. Oh, and awesome riding by the way! Always good to see a few eucalypts and grass trees for some local content too

Haha, I knew holding on to my 26 stable was worth it! Now I've just got to eek a couple more years out of them until all the new geometry is based around 29 front, 27.5 rear, and I'll be ready to finally make the change....
