Head to Head: 2026 Santa Cruz Tallboy vs. 2020 Norco Optic
I have that model optic, it came with that fox shock in it. Single best upgrade to that bike was throwing that shock in the bin. It'd be interesting to compare the two bikes on the same suspension components. That generation of fox is pretty bad, especially compared to any of the rockshox offerings from the past 4-5 years. Awesome comparison though. The take away is that the santacruz is the dentist's optic. 👀

The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly: Pinkbike Editors' Favorite Flat Pedal Shoes
I came to comments to see if anyone remembered the contacts. They were the best riding shoes I've ever owned. I wish I could go back in time and buy 10 pairs to get me through.

Ask Pinkbike: Tight Shock Bushings, Top-End or Tuned Shock, Spring Rate vs Force
Needle bearings for the win. If you're wearing them out quickly, it's probably more of a flaw in the frame design. I've been running the same needle bearing in the top eyelet on my Evil insurgent for 2 years now. Zero issues. That frame rotates close to 90 degrees on that pivot through a full compression, so standard bushings flog out really fast and make the suspension feel horrible in comparison. As with all things, results vary depending on situation, but this has worked really well for me, and I wouldn't run that bike any other way. A friend with a Santa Cruz Hightower LT also had good results on the bottom shock bushing with a needle bearing.

Video: Tomomi Nishikubo Versus Pure Trials Riders
@horkhork: Yea, it's call BB rise. Hydraulic rim brakes have been around for over 20 years on trials bikes now also. When set up right (good pads, right rim grind, good brake booster) they cannot be beaten for all out lock. 26" comp bikes pretty much only run rim brakes. Mods run a combination. I've recently acquired an inspired fourplay, man street trials bike are so hard to ride the same lines as I do on my Mod.
