First Look: Nukeproof's New Scout Hardtail
@letsgethurt: it’s sickening to see it like this..
Since the start of the pandemic gravity mtb went from extreme sports to elitists sport.
I love the modern bikes, but between 2014 and 2018 you got the most bike for your money.
It’s very sad to see this development and everybody agrees with that bs talk about „supply chain issues“.

Hey dude, I wonder how it’s going these days?
I hope your all good!
Is the bike still in your possession?
Do you give it the occasional huck once in a while?
It brings so much memories seeing those bikes, it’s a bittersweet feeling.
The early days of hucking where pretty much the best of my life if I look back, so nowadays the bikes have a special place in my heart.
Back in 2013 I had a phase where I didn’t like them too much, I only wanted the newest then.
Nowadays I also ride a 2022 bike, but I absolutely adore the bikes of the legendary freeride Era now.
I love the designs that I called ugly and dated back then!
I’d love to have such a machine again myself some time in the future.

Darren Berrecloth Fractures Vertebrae in Crash
@mtb-thetown: let me make a wild guess..
You did not rode Mountainbikes yet in the 2000s Freeride era, right?
Because of that estimate imma let you slide for this heresy, but only as long as you don’t start criticizing the lovely bucking bronco bikes of the heydays of bike culture!

Yes you are absolutely right!
The bikes are amazing now, but Mountainbiking culture peaked in ne NWD Freeride days!
Man do I long for those days, it felt so amazing to be part of it in the mid 2000s!
Nowadays it’s just corporate overlords and riders that have to be political correct influencers instead of individuals with a personality.
Now it’s nothing more than bowing down for the overlords and repeating their PR narrative instead of having a little bit of fun.
And with „not political correct“ I don’t mean any fascist bullshit or whatever, I just mean having a real personality and not word for word repeating what the PR guy said.
I love Ratboy for being himself and saying what he wants, but this is only possible because he’s now out of the circus..
The stuff he creates himself is just amazing and his worldview is absolutely refreshing in this industry!
When he spoke up to Santa Cruz because they wouldn’t make the new 5010 as a Aluminum bike that can be recycled and then left, he made a big statement which nobody would’ve predicted because they nowadays only know money and fame driven riders instead of people that stand up for their principles(whatever they may are).
I don’t even really care if riders have the same attitude or believe the same things as me.
They could even believe in totally different stuff and I’d appreciate that.
Because it would be their own opinion and not that of greedy corporate overlords that lost their love for bikes 15 years ago.
Sorry for the rant, but I enjoy riding those new bikes so much!
Simultaneously however, I hate the greenwashing and the meaningless bla bla of all the companies even more!
Why can’t they speak the truth and name the things by their name and have an opinion about things?
That’s how mountainbiking was created and without it, it will loose it’s spirit.

@brianpark: so has it something to do with the overlords not wanting this to happen?
It would be really nice to get at least a note why it didn’t happen.
There’s absolutely no need for prices or anything.
If the reason is that it’s too much work to create it, no problem, just say it.
But if it has something to do with the new masters not wanting it for whatever reason than it would be nice to get information about it.
You were always completely honest since the beginning, it would be an absolute shame if you bend over to corporate overlords and lost that honesty and integrity because of that.
I read pinkbike since the beginning and I always loved that the team is real and no PR joke that’s afraid to speak its own mind.
Please just give us an honest answer why it’s not happening anymore!
Saying nothing is much worse than speaking the truth.
Even if the truth is ugly.

Never ever compare that cybrorg thing to the most legendary downhill machine ever created again!
