Fashion vs. Fit: Is Longer Always Better? - Opinion
Bike makers seem to insist on building bikes to win racers, hence the lower, longer, slacker mantra. Going fast is good but so is manualling, jumping, bunny hopping, tight switchbacks and getting over rocks and roots - so give us bikes that are suited that as well.

Randoms - iceBike* Show 2018
You can still buy them brand new - because that's what I am using! Just they are sold by Keywin not Shimano (http://www.keywin.com/shop.php?ln=MTB-Downhill-Pedals_link00200003828151113104700067400000000)

Good Ideas Executed Poorly - Opinion
I completely agree. I when from a 9 to 11 and now my 11 is so finicky the slightest cable stretch or bump to the cage and it stops shifting properly. And for what? I can barely notice individual shifts.

2018 Oceania DH Champs - Photo Recap and Results
Yea. Not many DH women competing here in NZ at the moment. Which is a bit sad given a few years back there used to be better numbers.

Wyn Masters' Prototype GT Downhill Bike - First Look
@jclnv: The coupling does some things to the suspension but its not all bad. It tends to stiffen the suspension when you are standing on the pedals (good) but it does make the suspension stiffer under other scenarios such as flat landings (bad).

@jclnv: idrive has a couple of benefits. The single piece triangle avoids lateral flex issues. Also it has virtually no pedal-bob. But more recent 4 bar and VPP systems do this and provide better suspension progression as well.

@Fix-the-Spade: Yea I tend to agree with that. The problem with the longer travel iDrives is that its difficult to set the suspension to give a smooth ride over the smaller bumps as well as handle the bigger hits. With DH bikes you need to have both.
