Tomahawk990

I'm 50 this year. I've been riding bikes since I was 5. Switched to mountain bikes in 1990. Raced XC in Texas til 1999. Work as a homicide detective got in the way, and I burned out on the racing. Now I just do it for the love. Loads of injuries from 28 years in law enforcement may have slowed me down, but I won't stop.

Geoff Kabush's Race Diary From the Whiskey 50
I picked up my first mountain bike in 1990 at 29 years of age. I still ride a few times a week and downhill at AFBP each summer. Hurts like hell though. Still get the grin on my face afterwards.

I remember 26 years ago crashing and laying amongst the flowers and grass on a mountainside above Aspen and thinking it was heaven. We were on hardtails back then. Ruined my knees. Still ride though. Cross Country most of the time and Downhill on vacations. Y'all have fun up there.

GoPro’s Karma Drone Returns
I'm buying the Mavic. I still might get GoPro's gamble stick, but not their drone.

Hans Rey and Why the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame Matters
My first mountain bike was in 1991, I was 30. Guys like Hans, Ned and Tomac were raging. We rode like crazy around Texas and Colorado. In 1995 I destroyed my bike on vacation. The next month I got a Trek Y-33. I still ride it on local trails or to burn off negative energy after work. Now the Y bike sits in the Hall of Fame. I guess I'll keep it a few more decades.

Gee Atherton’s POV from Red Bull Foxhunt 2016
That was a 4 stopper. I'd have to stop four times to catch my breath. Special kind of riding skills and fitness this year.

YT Industries - Red Bull Rampage Fantasy Contest Winner
Sitting here on the beach a thousand miles from where my head is at the moment. Dropping in. The anguish is unbearable.

The Kelly McGarry Spirit Award - Red Bull Rampage 2016
Nicely done, Conner. You took some heavy hits this week that would have made many riders back off. We got to see a glimpse of you up top for the second run. Battered, eye taped up, the wind blowing and you dropped in anyway. You showed us courage today. I think Kelly would agree that you earned his award. Cheers.
