Trickstuff Aims To Retake 'Most Powerful' Crown With New Maxima Brakes - Eurobike 2018
So without an sort of cam-action, Incredibly high braking power = incredibly high leverage ratio = almost no pad-rotor clearance = constant brake rubbing Or am I missing something?

First Ride: Pivot's New Trail 429
@mm732: Good to know. I pre-ordered the Knolly Fugitive, which is 157mm but is also aluminum and has a pivot right in front of the dropout, so possibly a little wider there than the pivot. I'll know in a few weeks.

First Ride: Pivot's New Trail 429
@WAKIdesigns: I will agree that 148 was dumb, and that more rims should be formed as asymmetrical if we're still making hubs that require significantly different spoke lengths. I have ordered a 157mm spaced trail bike sigh-unseen, and have no idea if this will make for any significant heel clearance issues (obviously i hope that my heels wont hit the mainstays). I doubt it will. My point was that I also thought that "superboost" was a bad idea because it was sacrificing even spoke tension for a wider bracing angle, but I did the calculation on the hub and found out that it was nearly symmetrical.

First Ride: Pivot's New Trail 429
@WAKIdesigns: On paper it would seem so. Flange diameters come into play though. I just built a DT swiss straight-pull "superboost" hub onto a symmetrical rim. Ended up with NDS spokes being only 0.9mm shorter than driveside spokes. Not every hub manufacturer will adhere to this though. Symmetrical 150mm DH hubs are still an option and fit into these bikes without problems.

Why are the SLX cassettes not compatible? Does it really have to be the 15 or 17t cog that you remove?

Cole IBEX Carbon Wheels - Review
How do you prevent spoke wind up (or in this case not actually windup, but the spoke just spinning in the flange) with this design? Both ends of the spoke are free to spin. I don't see a secondary wrench interface anywhere on the spoke. Are the dudes making these in Taiwan just holding them with pliers?

I wish they used that thru axle design for all of their forks. The X15 and X20 axles are nothing more than wing nuts.
