Bontrager Line Pro 40 27.5 Boost Carbon Wheelset, XD

$665 USD
Used Bontrager Line Pro 40 27.5" wheelset, 110/148 boost. The rims have scratches from riding here in the Southwest, but they've been mostly on fire roads by a lightweight, cautious rider, and are structurally excellent. Axle and freehub bearings and pawls/springs are all perfect, and the wheels are true. The XD driver says "54t", but it has a full complement of 6 pawls, for 108t engagement. (It was the one Trek sent when we swapped from the original HG driver.)

First Look: Santa Cruz's First eMTB, the 2020 Heckler
@roma258: Agree with your point about sales driving production. But I don’t know if I’d characterize Europe as “ahead” on e-acceptance. The U.S. and Europe have different cultural stories (ideologies) about public land, which inform attitudes toward appropriate land use. Here, we have a “wilderness” story that suggests purity, solace, leave-no-trace, conservation, and spartan self-denial: If you’re alone, righteously stinking like a golem and eating year-old peanut butter off of a stick, you’re doing it right. In Western Europe, your average mountaintop campground has a pizza parlor, hot tub, disco, 38 nudist Dutch pensioners, and nylon-to-nylon tent spacing. (I exaggerate, a little, maybe.) So American backcountry users may continue to resist the ebike—even as we drive monster trucks to the trailhead. I guess we’ll see.

Honestly, if I’m so old and decrepit that I need to ride this thing, I’ll just go for a hike.
