@pmhobson: it's a good thing. In short, he's using a steel alloy that is well suited for this purpose.

Could This Flipped Drivetrain Solution Be The Future of Mountain Biking?
@luca-thekid: very similar in that they are both inexpensive and work great. Durability is similar in my experience - you can break anything if you ride far enough or crash hard enough. Neither will break the bank though.

Grow Cycling Foundation Shares Top Job Postings for June 2025
I don't know why I still look at jobs on Grow Cycling; 'industry jobs' are actually poorly paid pastimes.

WBD Sports Announces Generative AI Collaboration with Amazon Web Services
It's hilarious they would think we want this. The best possible implementation would be to do this behind the scenes and just have announcers read off the info as needed. I suspect AI will continue to support cheaping out on real research (ie - looking up stats), but to think the public gives a damn is absolutely hilariously off the mark.

Video: The 'Science' Behind Cleat Positioning with Ben Cathro
They do - Shimano Saint - PD-M820 (PD-M821 newer version, but basically same). The first time I stepped into one I knew immediately it was my new pedal. They feel vastly different from the XT/XTR 'trail' pedals - the platform on the Saints truly feels like a flat pedal. They even have optional pins, but they aren't needed imo. Of course your shoe choice will have an affect, but so far for me both Giro Terraduro and Specialized 2FO work equally great.

@wheelforge: Awesome to see Aurum Suspension called out. Mike happens to be local to me and is a good dude who knows what he's doing. As a bike dork, he's a great bike nerd to know.

Interview: World Cup Brake Tech with TRP
I put Quadiems (sprung for the G-spec for bling) on a bike 4 years ago and they are absolutely the best brakes I've ever had. I like to mention this fact whenever I reasonably can because they're just so good. In 4 years I've bled them maybe 3x (probably due...) and replaced pads a few times. Totally consistent, never felt like they 'needed' maintenance, I just know I ought to do it.
