This past weekend I lost my virginity and crossed the border. I never thought the United States would be so different than Canada.
I just got my L, so I wanted to drive across the border to see the crew at Transition Bikes. I totally had a brain fart and forgot that in the US you drive by miles per hour not kilometers per hour, so when we started to drive I was going about 80km and out of the corner of my eye I saw the speed limit sign and it read 50. Therefore I was like "Ah Crap! I don't want to get pulled over my first time in the states with my L". My Dad and Tyler just laughed at me. This would be one of the many things I learned on this trip.
We arrived in Ferndale, Washington around 12:30 - 1:00PM and went to meet the Transition crew at their warehouse. These guys are the wickedest guys I have ever met. Mike, Kevin, Kyle, Sam, Carl, Neil, Pat and if I missed anyone I'm sorry. Kevin introduced me to everyone and then I grabbed a shovel and started building. Kevin Menard and Kyle Young are the owners of Transition Bicycle Company.

Building Sweet Jumps
After about an hour of building we decided to break off and go for some Mexican food at The Chihuahua restaurant. The meals were enormous!!! There was no way that I could finish my fajita. Although I definitely recommend going there. We talked and ate, then headed out. I broke off from my Dad and Tyler to go with Kevin and Mike to the grocery store to get some adult pops, burgers, buns, and what not to have a BBQ for the rest of the guys that we left to dig.

We even managed to get Tyler to build!!!
When we got back to Transition, I grabbed my bike and volunteered myself to guinea pig the first jump. The way I build new jumps is to finish one at a time and ride it until you know how much speed your going to need to clear the next jump. It doesn't take me long to get used to a jump and start popping off a number of tricks. I threw some Backflips, 360's, Tailwhips, Supercans and decided to bust off a Triple Can for them, I generally like to put on a show when I ride.

Metz likes Backflips
Anyways, thanks to Kevin Menard, Mike Metzger, Kyle Young and everyone at the Transition Crew for a great day! I look forward to coming back very soon and riding all the jumps with you boys!

Next time, specify that you lost your "border virginity".
Losing your virginity and crossing the border sounds like 2 different events
