The 2022 World Cup XC racing continues with the eighth round at Mont-Sainte-Anne.
The Women's racing kicks off on Red Bull TV at: 12:00pm EDT (9:00am PDT, 5:00pm BST, 4:00am +day NZST)
The Men will start on Red Bull TV at: 2:30pm EDT (11:30am PDT, 7:30pm BST, 6:00am NZST)
Elite Women
First up in the Elite racing is the Women and after the incredible short track race on Friday we could be in for some exciting racing. Riders are said to be loving the updated course this week and it is looking very dry, dusty and fast.

9:20 am PDT The Elite Women are off for two start loops before taking on five laps. Jolanda Neff leads off the line.
9:21 am PDT Disaster for Emily Batty as she crashes at the start. Emily looks to be injured from the crash.
9:23 am PDT After the first of two starts loops it looks like Alessandra Keller is leading the race.
9:25 am PDT Rebecca McConnell has now taken the lead and she is looking fast today.
9:26 am PDT After start loop two, Rebecca McConnell leads Anne Terpstra by two seconds.
9:29 am PDT The start loops have not split up the front of the race with a big group of nine riders.
9:33 am PDT Rebecca McConnell has built a three-second lead so far, she will be wanted to retake the leaders jersey with one race left.

Relegating her to the back row start at Val De Sole will take care of that sort of narcissism.
Cheating is cheating - she's a flat-out cheater.
A 10 second penalty would be sufficient to stop it
Also odd bc it's not like either of them got much out of it... watching the replay they didn't appear to sprint very hard out of the start and ended up like 8 places back at the first turn.
Really impressive rides from Neff/Carod!
RedBullTV anoys me with that, I don't even watch the race live anymore when I know I need to go away in the middle of it as I like to watch from start to finish.
Being in the PST timezone it's not usually a problem for me as the races in Europe are usually long over before I watch but with these races in North America it's been a gotcha for me.
Rumor has it that Mona recently turned down a helmet on moral grounds. Jolanda's reputation would only go up if she had done the same back in the day.

Batty back in the day always did well in wc circuit and in the nationals.
Kate world champion. Probably would have continued to do well if stayed uninjured.
In todays day and age self promoting is where the money is. Just being an amazing rider isnt enough. Got to have that image and I see nothing wrong with that. Where are you getting the ethics thing? Some athletes regardless of sports are primadonna's and whiners. Maybe you know something l don't and that is very possible lol

I figured that course would play to both her Tech & Tactical skills. The rain made it even more so.
She put on quite the clinic in bad weather riding, even with her almost mishap on the log roll. There's one for Sunday Saves.
Glad to see Haley riding well again too. Though I wish she would have won that sprint.
It is much easier to get on here and make a post when things go really well but I’m gunna try to keep it real Today was really tough, I had a mechanical in the first lap and when the rain came I just was struggling a bit and crashed right to my bad knee again. Usually a DNF is not an option to me but with Worlds just around the corner I had to make that really tough decision. My knee was starting to swell and I feared making it any worse. I’ve stressed if it was the right call but with more time I really think I did the best thing for my health. Maybe it felt like things were working against me today because the legs were there but sometimes that’s the game! I’m no stranger to challenges and I know that these days make you a better athlete so no doubt I’ll bounce back to get that XCO result I’ve been craving this year."
